Unidentified Plane Fired at Over Kabul

BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Want to bring you up to date on what we know right now, and what we do not know -- which is largely the case at this point.

We do know, through videotape through Al Jazeera that a high- flying aircraft was spotted in the skies -- in the blue, clear skies -- today over Kabul. Again, we have no description on what type of aircraft this is. However, we do know from the ground that there was heavy and intense antiaircraft fire that went off against this plane. But as to whether or not there was any contact, that appears to be not the case at this time.

AL Jazeera Television, a CNN affiliate out of the Middle East, out of Qatar, working with us there on the ground in Kabul, providing these pictures as well.

Earlier we also saw signs in the trail of smoke from that antiaircraft fire. We'll watch it throughout the morning and into the day here.
