LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Let's get the very latest now on the story about Jayson Williams turning himself into police. Jayson Williams, being the former New Jersey Nets player, who's now facing possibly manslaughter charges.
Our Hillary Lane is standing by in Kingwood, New Jersey, and she was there when he turned himself in moments ago -- Hillary.
HILLARY LANE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Leon, all of this happened within the past half an hour. Jayson Williams walked into the entrance of the police barracks here in rural New Jersey.
Right behind me, as you can see from the video, he turned himself in voluntarily. He was not handcuffed. He was not expected to be, because this had been arranged. We had heard from the nephew of Gus Christofi, who was the limo driver who was killed back on Valentine's Day, that the charge that the charge that Williams will face will be a manslaughter charge. We do not have a confirmation of that yet from the prosecutor's office, but they have said that they will hold a news conference this afternoon, and that is also the time when we might hear of the indictment.
All of this stemming back to Valentine's Day. If you haven't been following the story, Williams supposedly hired Mr. Christofi to drive him and several of his friends from the basketball game on to dinner and then back to Williams 27,000 square-foot house, not far from here in Huntington County (ph).
What happened inside the house that night is still uncertain. But what has been reported at this point is that there may have been alcohol involved, and there may have been gunplay involved. What we do know for certain is that the Huntington County medical examiner says that Mr. Christofi died of internal bleeding, bled to death, and the bleeding was caused by gunshot wounds to his back and his -- I'm sorry, to abdomen and to his chest, and those fired at midrange.
So Mr. Williams now in custody and sure to be answering some questions. As the car that brought him here within the past half an hour pulled out, they said to police, they are going to be back in about half an hour, so maybe we will get some more details for you, and we will report them as soon as possible -- Leon.
HARRIS: Good deal, Hillary Lane, thank you very much.
Hillary Lane there, breaking the story for us as Jayson Williams turns himself in.
