BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: We are watching a situation here in the state of Georgia, specifically Cobb County, which is just north of the city Atlanta. There is a construction worker apparently became trapped about six hours ago, 8:00 a.m. local time, 8:00 a.m. Eastern time here in Georgia. And what we apparently is happening right now is that he may be freed at some time very soon. He is alive. It's quite possible he has been injured, trapped there again, as I mentioned, for the better part of the past six hours.

Courtesy of WAGA, a local affiliate here in Atlanta, helping provide these live pictures for us right now. We are also being told this happened close to an elementary school, whether it was under construction I'm not quite sure. But again, Cobb County, Georgia, just north of the city of Atlanta.

You can see the man's legs quite apparent there, as at least four men come to his rescue and his aid. And obviously, it looks like he has also been pinned somewhat, with his arms crossed. It may be a medical effort to try to keep him steady and still as they try and remove him. No telling what happened here a short time ago here in Atlanta, but obviously, he is alive. And with a neck brace on his head and somewhat of a back brace behind him. Those rescue workers now bringing him to safety -- somewhat relative safety, anyway.

You see the yellow hard stretcher there on the ground. And he will be placed on there and eventually carried out. But six hours trapped there. Certainly can be a very precarious time for just about anyone. But the good news is that he is alive, that he has gotten help, and gotten safety. His medical condition, though, his health, though, uncertain right now. We will try and contact some reporters and officials there on the scene working that story in Cobb County, Georgia, trying to get you a bit more information as we get it here.

That's as we leave it right now. Good news for that man. We will again gauge his condition as we get more from the scene there.
