Court Rules Hamdi Cannot Meet with Public Defender

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: We want to update you on a story that we have just been able to confirm here at CNN, a developing story this morning, this -- on the case of some of those detainees that have been held in Guantanamo Bay, and now also in the brig at -- the U.S. Navy brig in Norfolk, Virginia.
The case of Esam Hamdi -- Yaser Esam Hamdi -- he was the Taliban who, as it turns out, after he was detained, it was found out that he was actually an American citizen. Well, we've just now learned that the U.S. Court of Appeals has decided that the federal public defender cannot represent this man, because he was born here -- this man here, you see him in the picture here, Yaser Esam Hamdi.
The U.S. Court of Appeals now saying that the public defender can not represent him in this case. We'll get some more on this. Our Bob Franken is chasing down the details on this story.
