AARON BROWN, CNN ANCHOR: First, the latest on the investigation in the shooting incident at LAX this afternoon, Los Angeles time.
First and foremost, authorities say this appears to be an isolated incident, not an act of terrorism. We have that from federal, state, and local officials.
Now it gets a little confusing. Sources are telling CNN a man -- the man, the shooter appeared to be Arabic. He began shooting near the El Al ticket counter about 11:30 a.m. this morning, Pacific time. Two people were killed, at least three others wounded, before an El Al security agent shot and killed the gunman.
Now there is some controversy over whether the man was in fact Arabic looking. Other sources say not so.
The FBI simply says the investigation continues. The terminal -- the international terminal, Bradley, was evacuated. Domestic flights in and out of L.A. were not affected, so there were no major delays to the rest of the country.
International arrivals and departures at LAX are slowly getting back to normal. It's not a heavy travel day, the Fourth of July, but it certainly was a mess for a while, and the investigation goes on.
We'll have more on the deadly shooting at the airport in Los Angeles as it becomes available. In the meantime, "CONNIE CHUNG TONIGHT" is next.
