KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Breaking news now. Take a look at the big board. The Dow down more than 400 points. Unbelievable. Nasdaq down 52 points, but this is highest -- well, this is lowest we have seen it go, should I say, thus far today, 417 points.

This happens even as President Bush spoke in Birmingham, Alabama talking about U.S. stock markets. They were tumbling, but he said that he wanted to reassure everybody in Birmingham that the U.S. economy is sound, and small businesses have a bright future. Hard to understand when you see numbers like these. We are going to continue to follow the numbers, and we will have a live report from the New York Stock Exchange coming up within minutes.
