CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: We have this just in to us here at CNN, two U.S. Marine helicopters have apparently collided at an airstrip in Singapore this morning and a technician on the tarmac was killed. The Navy is telling us that no casualties were reported aboard the two CH-53 Marine Corps helicopters.

Those choppers' main rotors struck each other as the helicopters were taxiing to park at Singapore's Paya Lebar Air Base. Debris from the collision struck the ground crewman, who was then taken to a hospital and died.

The names of the pilots and the technician, a man from Singapore, have not been released.

U.S. military forces frequently use this island's nation airfield and naval facilities for training exercises and for re-supply.
