WOLF BLITZER, CNN ANCHOR: We've got breaking news I want to share with our viewers coming out of Stoneville, North Carolina.
Authorities there say that the body of a 9-year-old girl has been determined to be that of a 9-year-old white girl, but they have not been able to make a conclusive determination that it is the body of 9- year-old Jennifer Short.

As many of our viewers will remember, Jennifer Short has been missing since August 15. Her parents were found dead in their home in Bassett, Virginia; that's about 30 miles away from where the skull -- a skull was found.

The teeth from the partial skull showed that the teeth belong to a 9-year-old white girl, but tests did not determine whether the teeth were those of Jennifer Short.

We're going to continue to monitor the story. Authorities in North Carolina now saying it might take another day or two to make some sort of positive identification.

Once again, still no word whether that partial skull found in North Carolina is the skull of little Jennifer Short.
