Criminal Profiler Considers Sniper

DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: One person who can perhaps help us answer some of those questions, Pat Brown. She is a professional criminal profiler. And she is with us from our Washington, D.C., bureau.
Thank you for joining us.
PAT BROWN, CRIMINAL PROFILER: Hi.
KAGAN: This latest shooting, again, we have to stress, has not been confirmed to be related to the other shootings. But it seem so similar. What does it tell you, potentially, about the person who could be responsible for the shootings?
BROWN: What's most concerning is he's back in Spotsylvania County. So he didn't go to a new county this time. He went back to an area he'd been in before. What strikes me kid of interesting now is that this shooting, if it's connected, the shooting in Manassas -- and if you actually look over to the Bowie shooting -- there's a route right there that goes down to Virginia. So you have three major corridors going down to that same area in Virginia, which makes me wonder whether this guy doesn't have some kind of business down in that location.
This is good, in a sense of investigations, because it gives us two points that he's really connected to.
KAGAN: So what you're saying is you see, basically, all roads leading to Virginia?
BROWN: Right. I see this emphasis on Montgomery County, and then I see, yes, the roads going down to Virginia. So this could help greatly with the public trying to give tips as to who is going back and forth between those two spots. Who do they know that perhaps has business down there or a relative down there? For that matter, if this person is trying to get off the road at this point in time, is he showing up at somebody's house nearby: Hi, Auntie. He'd probably stop in and have a snack. So this is something for the public to be able to identify who this guy is.
KAGAN: Exactly, I mean, you're in this for a living. You do this professionally. But what would you say to people out there? What should she be looking for to be reporting to police?
BROWN: Well, first of all, this guy is a psychopath, so they're looking for a guy who is a pathological liar, a manipulator, he takes advantage of people, he thinks he's so important, everybody's always wrong, he's always right. He's got a rich fantasy life. He's involved in power control, and he might like Rambo movies, Arnold Schwartzenegger, anything that gives him the feeling of power that he controls the universe. And of course, he has a gun and, of course, he has a vehicle. And he has these connections to these two locations, Maryland and down there in Virginia.
So this is quite a lot of information. Along with the possibility of that Tarot card.
