JUDY WOODRUFF, CNN ANCHOR: We want to go directly to CNN's Washington bureau. Our Kelli Arena is there with some breaking news in connection with the sniper shooting suspects -- Kelli.
KELLI ARENA, CNN JUSTICE CORRESPONDENT: Judy, police in Tucson, Arizona, are reexamining a homicide that occurred there back on March 19.
The sniper task force operating out of Washington, D.C. has informed police in Tucson that sniper suspects John Allen Muhammad and John Lee Malvo were in the Tucson area visiting Muhammad's sister, who lived there at the time. The homicide occurred, the victim a 60-year- old man named Jerry Taylor. He was shot on a golf course there.
The rifle that was used in that shooting -- I'm sorry -- the weapon that was used in that shooting was a rifle. The Tucson police, the FBI and the ATF are now reexamining the evidence in that shooting to see if it is related to the sniper attacks here in the Washington area -- Judy.
WOODRUFF: Kelli, do we know how many other potential incidents there are out there that police and the FBI are looking into in?
ARENA: Well, we do know that there are two others that were in the Maryland area, of course that the two men were named official suspects in Washington state, in Alabama. They're looking into shootings in Louisiana, various other locations as well, Judy.
But the investigation, though, continues. So the word "potential" is the tricky one here, because, as the investigation moves forward and they find out where these two individuals were in the past year, that may in fact open up even new possibilities that we're unaware of at this time.
WOODRUFF: All right, Kelli Arena is our justice correspondent.
Thank you very much, Kelli.
ARENA: You're welcome, Judy.
