DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: And we have some breaking news happening right now out of Texas. It involves three missing girls who we hear have now been found.
Let's go to Ed Lavandera for the latest.
Ed, hello.
ED LAVANDERA, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hi, Daryn.
Well, all of this started about 7:00 a.m. Central Time. There were children in the south Dallas area, known as Oak Cliff. Three girls, two boys, and they were approached by two male subjects, as police say. They approached them and told the kids to get into the truck. They were driving a Yukon truck, if you will.
The two boys were able to get away. Now for the last couple of hours, the other three girls had been missing. And just a short moment ago, we were told by Dallas police authorities, that those three girls have been found safe. You're looking at live pictures from the South Dallas area where these three girls were found. These pictures coming to us from our affiliate WFAA TV.
One person, we are told, is in custody. And there were two people that they were looking for originally, two suspects involved in this case, so we believe that they are still looking perhaps for a second person as well. The three girls that were missing were the ages of 7, 10 and 11. Valerie Gomez (ph), see Cilia Gomez (ph) and Vivian Ortiz (ph), and of the other things that authorities are also doing trying to figure out and sort of what kind of relationships, if any, the suspects might have had with the children. So that is part of the investigation they are -- that is unfolding right now.
So again, you're looking at live pictures from the South Dallas area. But the good news is, and the main headline this morning, these three girls have been found safe.
KAGAN: I know an Amber Alert was put out to find these girls. Any details? Did somebody turn them in? Was somebody just aware that these girls needed to be found.
LAVANDERA: Well, that what we're waiting to hear as well. These Amber Alert do go out over the radio systems. They're also posted along billboards along the highway, electronic billboards, if you will. There are along the highway systems here in this area as well.
The truck used in this abduction, apparently, was found in a park a few miles away from where the abduction happened, and the time -- that car was found about two hours ago. It was found without the suspect and the girls inside. But it's probably safe to say that perhaps this Amber Alert helped out to some extent, but to what extent, we just don't know at this point -- Daryn.
KAGAN: Enough to know right now that this one had a safe and apparently a happy ending. Ed Lavandera in Dallas, thank you so much for bringing us up to date on that story.
