Liberian Government, Rebels Sign Peace Accord

KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: This just coming into CNN right now regards -- with regard, rather, to a peace accord, we are told, coming out of Ghana that the Liberian government and rebels have signed a peace accord with the hopes to end a three-year insurgency that has toppled warlord President Charles Taylor. You know Charles Taylor had finally left the country peacefully within the past two weeks. Now the country of Liberia, or the area of Liberia, Monrovia, specifically, suffering a massive humanitarian crisis. Just one ship getting into the area, another one sinking in Sierra Leone. That country struggling to get in order.
But this now coming out of Ghana, the Liberian government and rebels signing a peace accord as they move forward in redeveloping that country. We'll continue to follow the story.
