Kidney Disease Benches Nets Alonzo Mourning

MARTIN SAVIDGE, CNN ANCHOR: This just in to CNN now. It's being reported that the New Jersey Nets center, Alonzo Mourning, has decided to retire. The reason for that apparently is the fact that he is suffering and has suffered from a kidney disease. This is one where he was planning to make a comeback, did make a comeback from. But we are now being told that because of his existing medical condition, as it is being called, that he is essentially being forced to retire from professional basketball.
Again, that announcement coming from East Rutherford, New Jersey -- Alonzo Mourning is retiring from the New Jersey Nets.
