DONNA KELLEY, CNN ANCHOR: The U.S. Open is going on in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Defending champ, Tiger Woods is more than a few shots behind as he begins the third round. And CNN's Sports Illustrated's John Giannone is there and can kind of bring us up to date as we look forward to page one. Hi, John.

JOHN GIANNONE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hi, Donna. Yeah, Tiger Woods on the driving range behind me right now, preparing for his third round. Yes, did he make the cut, 79 golfers made the cut and Tiger Woods is one of them. He'll play his third round in about 45 minutes under ideal conditions here, a chamber of commerce day in Tulsa.

Temperatures in the mid '90s, very little wind, plenty of sunshine. So low scores could be had. Tiger Woods will need a low score. He's nine shots off the lead in his quest to win his fifth straight major. And his big goal for the day, get the ball in the fairway off the tee, something he did only half the time. And get the ball to the green quicker -- Donna.
