DONNA KELLEY, CNN ANCHOR: Now to Washington and the Chandra Levy mystery. After three months of intense searching, there's still no major break in the case. And for the latest on the Chandra Levy mystery, CNN's Kathleen Koch joins us from Washington.

Kathleen, hello?

KATHLEEN KOCH, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hi, Donna.

D.C. police say that they are continuing to plug away on this case, but detectives are combing through all of the information that they have gotten in, but the sad reality is that police admit they are no closer to finding Chandra Levy today than they were three months ago.

What they are really hungry for now is credible clues. Everything that they have gotten in so far has led to a dead end, including the unfortunate hoax earlier this week that alleged Levy had been killed and her body buried on an army base in Virginia. Recruits this week wrapped up two and half weeks of unsuccessful searches in city wooded areas. And police insist they have literally left no stone unturned.

CHARLES RAMSEY, D.C. POLICE CHIEF: We have finished a search of the parkland areas. As you know, we've done the searches of the abandoned buildings. Sometime ago initially, although I saw report yesterday that seemed to miss the fact that we checked areas in the Potomac River, but we did that long time ago. And Harbor Ranch goes our regularly and checks areas that they know where bodies surface over time.

KOCH: At the same time Congressman Gary Condit has returned to California for the August recess, more of his colleagues are now condemning his conduct in the Levy case. California Senator Diane Feinstein Friday speaking out, saying Condit's actions violated the public trust and hurt his credibility as legislator. Levy's family, meanwhile, continues waiting and hoping for some sign of their daughter.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) ROBERT LEVY, CHANDRA LEVY'S FATHER: It's been really tough. We want to thank everybody for their help and support and their love. And you know, we just...

SUSAN LEVY, CHANDRA LEVY'S MOTHER: It's been a stressful week. It's just so stressful.

R. LEVY: It's always stressful. And we just appreciate everybody's concern. And we just hope, you know, they continue to try to help us and continue with the search. And you know, we just ask for justice. That's all we want. We want justice. And we want to find Chandra.

KOCH: Every day information is still trickling into police, but they say that they are approaching that points in time where they have covered everything there is cover -- Donna.

KELLEY: Kathleen Koch from Washington with the latest for us, thank you.
