FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: Turning now to the investigation into Chandra Levy's death. "The Washington Post" today is reporting that knotted clothing found near the intern's body may indicate she was tied up at some point. Our Jason Carroll is live from Washington with the very latest on that investigation. Hi there, Jason.
JASON CARROLL, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hi there to you, Fredricka.
I've seen that report, and in fact this morning we spoke to investigators who were out here at the scene about that. They could not confirm or deny the contents of that report.
In terms of the scene out here, we're standing about a little more than 200 yards away from where Chandra Levy's remains were found. Those remains found on Wednesday by a man who was out walking his dog. Today, investigators are out here. They brought dogs with them as well, cadaver dogs to search the area. Those dogs canvassed the perimeter that has been set up.
It is a rather large perimeter, a two-tier perimeter of the crime scene here in Rock Creek Park. At this point, police do have enough information to put together some sort of a computerized map of the crime scene. Now what they've done is they've looked at where the remains were found versus where Levy's clothes were recovered, and this is one way to try and determine if Levy's death occurred here or if it occurred somewhere else.

SGT. SCOTT FEAR, U.S. PARKS POLICE: We went through the whole scene with a laser unit that precisely measures out the distance between evidence and also, like, landmarks, things like that, that will be turned over to the investigative team -- it was turned over last night -- where they can use that information for any possible clues.

CARROLL: Again, a large perimeter is set up out here, but investigators tell us that what they're going to do is try to scale back that perimeter. And in fact, what they've done is they've opened up the road -- for the first time that has happened since Chandra Levy's remains were found out here. Also, investigators at this point cannot give us any idea of how long they're going to be out here at Rock Creek Park -- Fredricka.
WHITFIELD: All right. Jason Carroll from Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C., thank you very much.
