FREDRICKA WHITFIELD: The paparazzi and other members of the media are converging on a tiny village in Ireland.

Word has it, Paul McCartney will be married there as early as next week.

CNN's Richard Quest joins us now with the latest buzz over the Beatle's wedding bells.

RICHARD QUEST, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good evening, dear Fredricka.

Yes, the latest word is that pretty much everybody to a person believes that the wedding of Paul McCartney to Heather Mills will take place at Castle Leslie here in Glaslough in Ireland.

But nobody will say exactly when. The last word we heard, of course, is still looking forward to Tuesday.

But some people suggest that now that the flowers and everything have arrived, that it might actually be on Monday instead.

So, you pays your money, you takes your choice on that one.

However, what we can do is give you a bit of background about where we are.

Let's start. We're actually at Castle Leslie, which is in Glaslough, which is on the northwest part of Ireland -- very close to the border between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland. What, we are about 80-odd, 85 miles from Dublin.

Now, why did Sir Paul McCartney choose here to actually hold the wedding ceremony? Because he has family links to the area.

His grandparents are buried locally nearby. He's visited it many times.

And what we understand is that when he came here just a couple of weeks ago -- or months ago -- he loved the place, and decided this was the place to be.

Now, Fredricka, what preparations have been made? Because, what we understand -- needless to say, you can see it behind me. That is the gate. And let me put it bluntly. To get into that gate, you need half a dozen passes. You've got to get past those security guards, and just about anything else that you could imagine.

What they've built is two huge marquees along the lakeside. They've also put up covered walkways between the chapel, the marquees and the castle.

There's 14 bedrooms in the castle.

So, Fredricka, we know that the flowers have arrived. The food from England has been brought in.

We also know that there's plenty of wine and beer.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yee-hoo!

QUEST: But we haven't yet seen any sign ...

(LAUGHTER)

QUEST: ... of Sir Paul McCartney or Heather Mills.

And that is the big question.

WHITFIELD: That's right. Well, somebody else there is very excited that there is at least alcohol, but, you know, no guests of honor yet.

Richard Quest, thank you very much. Always a treat to see you.
