ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: Tinsel Town is gearing up for the 60th annual Golden Globe Awards. That's the right the stars are no doubt stocking up on the Botox and the bling-bling in preparation of the big event.
CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: That's right. CNN's Daryn Kagan maybe has a few bling-blings of her own. She's in Los Angeles where a few honors are already being handed out. What are you seeing there, Daryn?

DARYN KAGAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, I want to go on the record first. Maybe a few bling-blings but no Botox in this face, OK?

COOPER: All right.

KAGAN: Just to be clear. Just to be clear on that my friends. I want to take our viewers down a little walk here. This is the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. Twenty-four hours from now some of the biggest starts in the world, both movie and television, will be walking on this very red carpet.

Golden Globes significant because you do have TV and movies at the same time, also because it's so close to Oscar season. They can affect who gets nominated and who ultimately wins an Oscar.

I want to bring Paul Clinton in to take a look at the movies that are hot and the actors. Hello.

PAUL CLINTON, CNN FILM CRITIC: Hello, how are you?

KAGAN: I'm doing -- I'm very excited. This is kind of your season. You love this.

CLINTON: This is great. It's wonderful. Well the big question is how many awards "Chicago" going to win tonight, not if it's going to win.

KAGAN: Tomorrow night.

CLINTON: Tomorrow night.

KAGAN: Tomorrow night. OK, let's go, lots of categories, also Golden Globe is different in that they split the movie category.

CLINTON: Right. KAGAN: You have musical and comedy on one side and drama, so everything's not lumped into one. You're talking about "Chicago" as being the lead story, one of the most nominated movies ever in Golden Globe history.

CLINTON: It's the second most nominated. The first most nominated movie was "Nashville" which didn't win.

KAGAN: Ah.

CLINTON: So, but this has had eight nominations so it's very heavily nominated, a lot of categories. The "Chicago" people have been going out and really campaigning for this. They're attached at the hip. They really had a great time doing the film and I think there's going to be a lot -- you're going to be hearing "Chicago," "Chicago," "Chicago," "Chicago" come tomorrow night.

KAGAN: Let's move right on down the list for the Best Drama category. You liked "The Hours."

CLINTON: I like "The Hours." A lot of people don't. I know you don't.

KAGAN: No, I like the performances.

CLINTON: You like performances.

KAGAN: I like the performances, yes.

CLINTON: I kind of agree with you. I think these performances were overall better than the actual movie but there's a lot of buzz on "The Hours." However, in the last few weeks we were hearing a lot of "Pianist," "Pianist," "Pianist."

KAGAN: Be really clear about what you're saying.

CLINTON: "Pianist," piano players, yes.

KAGAN: A lot of questions about that movie.

CLINTON: Roman Polanski directed and he's not nominated here, which I find you know really annoying. He should have been nominated for Best Director. Adrien Brody, it's a huge breakout role for him. It won the Palme d'Or in Cannes. I think it's going to probably pick up a lot maybe because Roman wasn't nominated. So, it's going to be either "The Pianist" or "The Hours."

KAGAN: One problems is, and of course (UNINTELLIGIBLE) been distributed widely so a lot of people have not seen that.

CLINTON: A lot of people don't see it.

KAGAN: I want to move on to the actor category. This also split into musical and comedy and then drama, so we need to kind of fly through these, so Best Actor-Drama?

CLINTON: Best Actor-Drama, it's going to be probably Daniel Day- Lewis.

KAGAN: For "Gangs of New York?"

CLINTON: For "Gangs of New York." I think -- but Jack Nicholson is going to be a close second. You can never tell. You can never hold back on Jack. Jack, this is his town and he loves the foreign press. They love him. He always gives a great show. And, "About Schmidt" was a very, very good performance on his part.

KAGAN: Best Actor in comedy, you're picking somebody who's actually won here before.

CLINTON: The best actor in comedy is Hugh Grant. I think he probably will win, "About a Boy," a lot of steam. It came out really, really early but it still has a lot of steam, although Richard Gere, again "Chicago," the "Chicago" machine. He had a couple of wonderful moments, one of those really great musical numbers in "Chicago" and he could win the day.

KAGAN: And for actress, Best Actress in a Drama?

CLINTON: Best Actress in a drama, there again we have you now you've got Nicole Kidman with "The Hours." Anytime you put on a fake nose or you put here in a wheelchair or you cut off your leg or you're an alcoholic prostitute, you know.

KAGAN: Very effective.

CLINTON: Very effective, so there may be something there, and then Julianne Moore with "Far From Heaven."

KAGAN: Very good.

CLINTON: And also she was in "The Hours," so there's a double whammy even though "Far From Heaven" is what she's nominated for.

KAGAN: And Best Actress in a Comedy?

CLINTON: Best Actress in a comedy, well there you've got a problem because you got Renee and you've got Catherine competing against each other.

KAGAN: Renee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones in "Chicago."

CLINTON: In "Chicago."

KAGAN: They were both excellent.

CLINTON: And they're both excellent, although Renee really has the edge. She's more in the movie than Catherine is. I think it's going to be a toss up. I think maybe Renee.

KAGAN: And finally for Best Director, who are you predicting?

CLINTON: I'm predicting maybe Martin Scorsese. I mean it's his time. This movie is his heart and soul. He's been an actor for 30 years and you know I'm hoping maybe that Martin finally gets some recognition.

KAGAN: For "Gangs of New York." Paul, thank you so much. You're going to be with us throughout the weekend. Interesting note about Martin Scorsese when you think about his volume of work, Carol and Anderson, nominated a number of times here at Golden Globe and at the Oscars, has never won, not once.

COOPER: It's a crime I tell you.

LIN: How about that? I'm telling you, get after that. All right, Daryn.

KAGAN: We'll talk to you live from the red carpet here tomorrow.

LIN: You bet and I'll see you in the six o'clock show too.

KAGAN: You got it.

COOPER: I'm not even going to ask what you're going to wear. I just want to be surprised. It's going to be dazzling I'm sure.

KAGAN: OK.

LIN: We were surprised last year. You went strapless.

KAGAN: Yes, I didn't go strapless this year because it looked like I was naked on television.

LIN: There you go.

KAGAN: You got me from the shoulders up. I will not be naked and I won't be strapless, so there you go.

COOPER: All right, well we'll still tune in.

KAGAN: Thank you.
