CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: Well, the World Series gets underway tonight. The Florida Marlins are facing the New York Yankees. And if you weren't a baseball fan, think of it as David versus Goliath.
Josie Burke is at Yankee Stadium to explain why. Boy, I think we know why. The Yankees are like, you know, pennant giants.

JOSIE BURKE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Exactly. They've won 26 World Series titles, Carol. The Marlins, they've won just won. They're taking batting practice right behind me. They're a very young, inexperienced team. And just a few minutes ago, their 72-year old manager Jack McKeon said he thinks they're really excited. He described them as loose. Everyone else, though, they probably described this Florida team as a big underdog.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JACK MCKEON, MARLINS MANAGER: Nobody gave us a chance to make it to the wild card. We did that. No one said we could - said we couldn't beat the Giants. We did that.

We didn't have a chance against the Cubs with Terry Wood and Pryor. We accomplished that seat. And here, this is the next level.

JOE TORRE, YANKEES MGR.: Being the favorite, we certainly don't feel that we - you know, we can assume we have that edge and it means anything to them. You know, if we felt that they were intimidated, sure, I love the edge, but I don't think that's going to happen.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BURKE: Yankees manager Joe Torre will send the lefthander David Wells to the mound tonight. He'll go against the Marlins Brad Penny. And it'll be interesting to see if this is a game dominated by offense because these two guys, they're each coming off a relief appearance in his team's game seven - Carol?

LIN: Josie, you think the weather is going to affect any of the play tonight?

BURKE: You know, we had some winds in the ALCS, Carol, but it's nothing like that. It feels like World Series weather. We're in New York. It's a little chilly, but weather probably not going to be a factor tonight.

LIN: All right, maybe a factor is the maneuvering by the different coaches. Any changes in the line-ups? You've just touched on it a bit there.

BURKE: Well, it's interesting. The Marlins, obviously, playing the National League, where they don't have a designated hitter, but there will be one tonight because they're in the American League Park. So Jack McKeon going to use one of his veteran players, Jeff Conine (ph), in that designated hitter role.

And for the Yankees, it's really status quo, but that's interesting because that means that Joe Torre's going with the line-up that he used in game seven. And that means the slugger, the designated hitter Jason Giambi, is going to stay in the seventh hole. And that's really a low part in the batting order for him. But he responded. He was in a slump. He had two homeruns in game seven. And it looks like Joe Torre wants to stick with what got him here, Carol.

LIN: Okay, good plan. Thanks so much, Josie. We'll see what happens in the game.

BURKE: Thank you.
