JOHNATHAN KARL, CNN ANCHOR: Now, we have a late, new development just coming in from the president's trip to Mississippi, we're joined now by Suzanne Malveaux in Desoto County where there's been an incident involving a car apparently hitting the building where the president had been speaking.
Suzanne, what do we know?

SUZANNE MALVEAUX, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Jonathan, it happened about 20 minutes ago, to just start off to let you know the president is fine, was not in any danger, and is moving on to his next location. But, we're at the Desoto Civic Center in South Haven, Mississippi. In the parking lot, in a motorcade, when a -- an old blue four door Toyota Camry pulled up to the motorcade. It was traveling really a high rate of speed; it jumped the curb, heading sharp left, and was heading straight to the civic center building that is just were the president was speaking just before that.

Now, this car, we are told by eyewitnesses, particularly a pool (ph) producer, who was there on the scene, who saw this car go into the building, it was being chased by sheriff's deputies, local police, secret service and we are told this was a woman, three children, who was inside of the car. That she was distraught and upset that local police drew their guns and she was arrested on site. We saw her being taken away.

And at this point, the motorcade had stopped while this incident had occurred. But again, should let you know that there is no danger to the president, and we are traveling, getting more information as we go.

KARL: OK, so the bottom line here is, no harm done to the president. Where exactly was the president at the time this incident took place?

MALVEAUX: The president was in the motorcade at the time, the motorcade had stopped. Everyone had essentially just gotten into the motorcade about, no more than, five or ten minutes before this car just drove up and plowed through the motorcade and was heading to the build where the president had just spoken.

KARL: OK. Well Suzanne, we know we'll get the latest from you on this, as you follow it. But, looks like the situation clearly under control and bottom line, no harm done to the president but an unusual incident, at that. Thanks very much Suzanne.
