Opioids Found on Prince; Former WWE Star Chyna Found Dead at 46; High School Girl Beaten to Death by Other Young Girls

UNIDENTIFIED MALE (voice-over): On the Prince investigation, a law enforcement official is telling CNN that local authorities found
prescription opioid medication on Prince and in his home.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DR. DREW PINSKY, HLN HOST: Don`t BS me with flus and nothing and all that. You know, that`s just insulting all of us.
I`m not saying this was not drug assist -- or drug-related demise, but not because of the addiction with the capital A, this is not that.
Prince suffered from a hip injury and was "in pain" all the time. Chronic pain should not be treated with opioids.
There is no indication that chronic pain is usefully treated with ongoing opiate pain medication.
The pain gets worse from opioids, not better.
And somebody because they then stopped sleeping, frozen or hypnotic or an anxiety medication, and that`s when they die.
Forget the name of the drug. It doesn`t matter. He had pain, was given pain medicine, and now, he`s dead.

PINSKY: So as I`ve been predicting for the past week, opioids were in fact found on Prince at his estate the day he died. Also breaking tonight, a
search warrant was served on his home, the Paisley Park, that we`ll have by -- more on that in just a second.
So I`m very excited. My panel tonight, the women of the Emmy-nominated talk show, "The Real," Tamar Braxton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne
Bailon.
(APPLAUSE)
They love you guys.
JEANNIE MAI, THE REAL HOST: We love them.
LONI LOVE, THE REAL HOST: Yeah.
PINSKY: I love my boo.
MAI: I know.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I know.
MAI: We know this one`s all yours. I know.
PINSKY: Thank you.
LOVE: Yes. This is a rough issue, though, we got to talk about.
PINSKY: Yes. So we`re going to get right out. The first are we`re going to -- you guys know Dax Holt, right?
LOVE: Yes.
PINSKY: (INAUDIBLE) "TMZ." He`s a reporter there, who`s been on the story since it`d broken -- relieved that you guys broke it on HLN, remember?
DAX HOLT, REPORTER, TMZ (on camera): It was crazy. Honestly, that day, I mean, it was insane. I was talking to Michael Ra (ph) on the other show
and the news broke, and I had to stop down the live show. I had to say, "Hey. This is what`s going on. He has passed away." And it was just a
surreal moment.
PINSKY: What do you know about the search warrant?
HOLT (on camera): So this is pretty interesting. But the law enforcement have basically issued a search warrant for Paisley Park. They want to get
on there. They want to find any evidence of drugs, any correspondence between him and doctors, any prescriptions, medical information. But one
thing that they were making very clear is they wanted all of the info in this warrant be kept confidential.
The number one reason, they do not want evidence tampering. They do not want anyone throwing anything, getting rid of anything that could lead to
some answers. I mean, the big -- I would say the big thing here is that they want to make sure that he wasn`t doctor-shopping run. We saw a lot of
that happening with Michael Jackson. In that case, he was going out, finding doctors that would write a prescription just so that he could get
his drugs. And, you know, we can tell now after all these that has come forward, Prince definitely had an issue with Percocet. It`s sort of --
PINSKY: Well, Dax, I`m going to interrupt you, because -- I`m going to interrupt you, because I -- he doesn`t have to doctor shop, first of all,
to get opioids. I mean, when you guys go to doctors, they are people excited to take care of you. They`re like, "Ooh, Doni Love has come in.
Tamar is coming in." And they`re sort of -- they`d see you differently (INAUDIBLE) --
LOVE: They call you a VIP.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
PINSKY: Right.
LOVE: That`s what happens.
PINSKY: Does that change the kind of --
LOVE: Oh, yes. Of course, it changes.
PINSKY: Yes. That`s wrong. But be careful with that. Tell me you`re not a VIP anymore, because when -- if somebody is excited about taking care of
you --
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
PINSKY: -- they`re not using their normal judgment.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Right.
PINSKY: And also, is it not true that VIPs sometimes can get their way?
ADRIENNE BAILON, THE REAL HOST: Absolutely.
MAI: Pull a card here and there, yes.
LOVE: Yes.
TAMAR BRAXTON, THE REAL HOST: Well, what kind of cards you all pull, because I (INAUDIBLE).
MAI: I think you could. I think you could do it. Absolutely.
PINSKY: Right. You just said, Tamar?
BRAXTON: No. Not. No. Only because I`m not the girl who asks for extra care or extra medicine.
PINSKY: Right. But you all know someone -- you understand that, right?
BRAXTON: Oh, for sure.
LOVE: Right.
PINSKY: I`m telling you, all you do is a little bit of that and you`re in trouble. You`re getting bad care.
LOVE: Right.
PINSKY: And if you have pain and you need more. And by the way, we heard this rumor by him not sleeping for 152 hours. Somebody hear that rumor?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Wow.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
PINSKY: Then he`s on pain medicine -- maybe he`s trying to get off, maybe that`s why the no sleep. Then somebody gives him a sleep medicine, lethal
combination.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Right.
PINSKY: Lethal combination.
BRAXTON: I didn`t know that.
PINSKY: Lethal combination.
BRAXTON: So pain pill and a sleeping pill is not the good thing?
PINSKY: The pain pill and the sleeping and the anxiety pills, any of those -- well, the benzo sleeper, the painkiller, you put those together, you
stop breathing.
BRAXTON: Shut up.
PINSKY: Very easy. It`s hard to overdose on Percocet.
MAI: I have a question.
PINSKY: Yes.
MAI: Why would a doctor who wants to buddy-buddy with you and pull that card for you? Why would they out themselves and their practice in jeopardy
--
PINSKY: I don`t think they know they`re doing -- they don`t really realize they`re doing it. They`re just sort of excited, because they`re --
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Really?
MAI: It`s going to kick it?
LOVE: And --
BAILON: IF you`re so excited to have a -- like -- and you`re a fan of the person, why would you do --
LOVE: Right.
BAILON: -- something that could kill him?
MAI: And (INAUDIBLE).
LOVE: And you know you can get some money from that person. You know, you may pay extra money because we all know Prince was not broke.
PINSKY: Yes.
LOVE: So that could have been the issue, too.
PINSKY: Yes. Again, I believe my peers think they`re doing the right thing. They just don`t really understand or they might not be
communicating with other doctors. It`s kind of a subtle and nuance thing. You guys didn`t know that that`s a lethal combination.
BRAXTON: I haven`t, no.
BAILON: No.
LOVE: No.
PINSKY: Right? We should all be aware of that. Do you know that 90 percent of the painkillers prescribed on earth are prescribed in this
country?
LOVE: Ninety?
BAILON: Yes.
PINSKY: The drug -- 90 percent.
MAI: Come on.
PINSKY: The drug Percocet that he`s alleged to have had on him --
MAI: Westernized medicine --
PINSKY: -- 81 percent -- well, but look, 81 percent of the Percocet prescribed on earth, in this country.
MAI: That`s(INAUDIBLE).
PINSKY: Nearly 100 percent, the Vicodin prescribed, on the planet, prescribed in this country.
Adrienne, is that because we have more pain?
BAILON: No. Absolutely not. But I thought -- OK. Maybe I`m crazy. I thought, maybe I saw a commercial for Rite Aid or something that said that
if you go to the pharmacist, they will tell you any drugs that you are prescribed -- that you have been prescribed that have a bad combination.
PINSKY: They will and they might alert you, but they`re still going to fill your prescription.
BAILON: You have to sign that thing with the box next with this. They told you --
PINSKY: Yes.
BAILON: -- or offered you --
PINSKY: Yes.
BAILON: -- the advice of how we can mix.
MAI: What happened to the good old days, though, when unless you`re feeling extreme pain or you need extreme -- you have an extreme need for
it, then you take the pill. Like even aspirin today, I`m like, "Do I really need the aspirin?"
PINSKY: Good for you.
BAILON: Exactly.
PINSKY: God bless you. I was raised by a family practitioner. My dad was a practitioner. He always said, "Medicines are all dangerous. They can
all kill you. Only take them when they really worth the risk."
MAI: Right.
PINSKY: Dax, TMZ has been reporting on Prince`s condition when he -- when he`s plane was forced to land days before he had died, four days before.
Now, you know, causing -- and first of call, a plane that needs to land is because somebody is really sick onboard. We heard that he was sensually
unconscious and carried off. Tell me about that.
HOLT (on camera): Yes. So like you said to me on your radio show, you said that, "Look, someone with flulike symptoms most likely is not going to
do an emergency landing on their plane, but we kind of have some more, I guess he -- his entourage had actually told the first responders there.
and according to this -- it`s all coming out of an incident report from the Moline Fire Department that when they landed, his bodyguard there had to
actually pick him up, carry him off the plane, put him directly into an ambulance where they could minister that save shot, rush him over to the
hospital to do further care.
So it was definitely more than flulike symptoms like just people were letting on at the beginning.
PINSKY: Yes, ma`am?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Do you think that sometimes the doctors are thinking that it`s better to be a yes man and be near the artist because they can
keep an eye on them, and maybe that`s why they do it as oppose to --
PINSKY: And maybe -- I don`t think it`s sinister but listen, we went through a period of time when doctors were going to be criminally charged
if they didn`t treat pain adequately. Now, we have things called patient satisfaction surveys where if the doctors aren`t getting good satisfaction
surveys, they lose their job. So there`s a lot of things lined up. And, two, you`re right. Bringing the person in, keeping them close, that may
figure into it as well.
One thing about the save shot, did you hear about the shot that did?
LOVE: Yes.
BAILON: Yes.
BRAXTON: Yes. What`s that?
PINSKY: What do you guys think that was?
BAILON: Is it that to revive somebody like --
PINSKY: Yes.
LOVE: Right.
BAILON: Yes.
PINSKY: Keep going.
BAILON: What`s the one with John Travolta --
MAI: That`s what I thought, the --
BAILON: -- and Uma Thurman or something, and the uh, and she comes out ah, like she comes out from --
PINSKY: Oh, fiction. I think that`s a little too --
BAILON: So drug overdose. Clearly, I don`t know much about this but, you know, I know that sounds weird, but when you think of a drug overdose --
PINSKY: Yes.
BAILON: -- that`s the first thing that I think. Did you guys see the same thing in your head? Not about --
PINSKY: So when you`re jamming a giant syringe of epinephrine into somebody`s heart, that`s what you do it for --
BAILON: Yes. That`s --
LOVE: I`m sure that was not -- that`s not what it was.
PINSKY: No. It`s not what happened.
BAILON: That`s --
LOVE: What is it?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What is that--
PINSKY: Well, it`s a little medicine you just give in the arm. It`s a -- it blocks the opioid medication that might be in your body. What -- but
the thing that -- what drives me crazy is the reporting on this, it`s always inaccurate. Medical reporting is so inaccurate in the press. They
give it to anybody that`s found unconscious in the field, 100 percent of the time. Now --
BAILON: You see. And I`m thinking it`s for an overdose and that`s what you give to somebody who`s having an overdose.
PINSKY: You do. But how do you know if somebody is having an overdose, you come up on them there unconscious.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You don`t know in that moment.
PINSKY: But --
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Right.
PINSKY: But the fact that he was able to leave the hospital two hours later, that tells you that he was revived by that shot. And why would you
-- and the question then is why would he leave after just two hours in the emergency room? You can`t learn anything in less than five hours.
MAI: Right.
PINSKY: So that must have been against medical advice.
LOVE: Right.
PINSKY: There`s a lot underlining to the story.
LOVE: Well, there was a rumor that he left because he couldn`t get a private room.
PINSKY: But still that`s against medical advice and regardless of the reason that he thought he was leaving, the doctors, I`m sure, were very
concerned about that departure.
Next up, an artist, who knew Prince, is here with us to tell us what she noticed the last time she saw Prince. Were there perhaps more serious
signs of pain? Back after this.

may have crawled into the house looking for a girlfriend.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE (voice-over): Law enforcement source reveals to CNN that there were prescription pain medications specifically opioid pills
found on the music icon when he was found in his elevator at the time of his death, as well as somewhere within his Paisley Park home. We also know
federal drug enforcement agents, DEA, they`re now in there. They`re part of the investigation.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE (voice over): There has been a search warrant issued for Prince`s property at Paisley Park. They want to keep all the info about
this warrant confidential because they don`t want anyone tampering with any evidence inside of Paisley Park before they can get their hands on it.
PINSKY: Tonight, painkillers opioids found on Prince himself and at his home, Paisley Park estate, on the day he died. Investigators believe it
was a reaction, not necessarily an overdose, but a reaction, it`s a good way of describing it to painkillers that caused his plan to make an
emergency landing four days prior. Back with the co-hosts of "The Real," Tamar, Loni, Jeannie and Adrienne.

And on Skype, I still have Dax Holt, reporter from "TMZ." We have been discussing the problem. Now, I`m not sure I made it as clear as I wanted
to in that last break, is that it really is not the opioid pain medication that cause people stop breathing, it`s really hard to overdose on
painkillers, but you adding a sleeping medicine or benzo, that`s when it becomes a lethal medication, lethal combo.
Dax --
LOVE: Before we get started --
PINSKY: Yes?
LOVE: -- can we just give it up to Prince, and he`s genius.
PINSKY: Yes.
LOVE: And we`re going to miss him. So I just want to say that.
(APPLAUSE)
PINSKY: And, Loni, to your point (ph).
LOVE: They definitely want to tear the man down.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
PINSKY: No. Listen, I`m -- I feel like we`ve been ripped off. He`s been ripped off of his life.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
PINSKY: We`ve been ripped off from a great artist.
MAI: Absolutely.
PINSKY: Not his fault.
BAILON: Yes.
PINSKY: And, again, I don`t see a long history of addiction here, struggles.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: At all.
PINSKY: Nothing like that.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
PINSKY: It`s just you hear, maybe there was something medical, then all of a sudden pain, and all of a sudden, he`s dead.
LOVE: Yes. And there`s a lot of numbers.
PINSKY: That is not his fault.
LOVE: And we want to find out, because a lot of people like, "We don`t want to hear about it." I want to understand how he died.
BRAXTON: Yes.
LOVE: Because he was such a great guy, plus, it can help other people. So I think this is important in what you`re doing. So I appreciate this.
BRAXTON: Absolutely.
PINSKY: Thank you, Loni. Listen --
BAILON: And educating people.
PINSKY: Well, that`s the point.
BAILON: Yes. Educating people because maybe this won`t happen to someone else because now you`re informed, and you`re going to take better care of
what it is you`re putting into your body.
LOVE: Right.
BAILON: And being more aware of mixing a lethal combination.
PINSKY: A real simple rule of thumb, guys, if somebody hands you a painkiller or an anxiety medicine or sleep medicine, do not take them for
more than two weeks. You shouldn`t do that.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, wow.
PINSKY: If you take it longer than two weeks, only under specialized conditions where things are carefully controlled. You know that you are in
a dangerous situation if you go beyond two weeks.
Joining me now, I have Meli`sa Morgan. She was a friend of Prince`s. Meli`sa, thank you for joining us.
MELI`SA MORGAN, SINGER, R&B/SOUL (via telephone): Hello.
PINSKY: Hey there. How did you know Prince?
MORGAN (via telephone): I know prince because I recorded a song that he wrote, "Do Me Baby," which became number one on the Billboard Chart for
like four weeks. So that`s how I knew him.
PINSKY: And tell us about the last time you saw him.
MORGAN (via telephone): The last time I saw him, he invited me to a wonderful party that he had in Manhattan. And a lot of celebrities were
there, Wendy Williams, Keyshia Cole, Camara Hall. And we just had a great time. He came in, he was fine, he was jamming with everybody, he was
jamming with Doug E. Fresh. And they called me up to the booth to see him, and when I saw him, I screamed. He screamed. We both screamed. We were
really glad to see each other. And he looked fine to me. He looked wonderful.
PINSKY: And, Meli`sa, my understanding is that perhaps you saw some evidence of the hip pain he`d been complaining about.
MORGAN (via telephone): Well, I didn`t see evidence. What I saw is that he was walking with a cane. And I thought it was, you know, just for the
look. Now, later on, we understand that it`s for his hip, but I didn`t know at the time. He wasn`t really dancing that night. He was just, you
know, receiving everyone in, and making sure everyone was happy at the party.
PINSKY: You know, you guys, I didn`t learn how amazing this man was. I love -- I always loved his music and he was an amazing artist.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Right.
PINSKY: But this guy was a philanthropist, he followed the principles of his Jehovah`s Witness belief system, where he was to give and give quietly.
MAI: Yes.
BAILON: Wow.
PINSKY: Much the way Jesus did.
MAI: Yes.
PINSKY: And no one knew. People would have iPads and the, you know, solar energy resources and it would all be from him. It`s sad, one of the
controversies -- I want to ask you, Dax. There`s been some controversy around his will not having been established. I think if he had a will, it
would have been all about the philanthropy and setting up institutions of giving from his money.
HOLT (on camera): That`s what I was really surprised, because he was such a giving person. I was surprised that he didn`t have a will set up just so
that money could be allocated going towards the foundations that he would want the money to go to. Right now, you know, the judge confirmed, there`s
no will there. So that money on his estate gets divided up between his siblings. There are six of the siblings that are still alive, and they
will get that money. I think the other big question here is his music catalog. There`s still a lot of money that will be pouring into his music
catalog. Who gets control of that?
I mean, there`s so many questions when it comes to money because this man can easily keep bringing in tons and tons and tons of millions of dollars,
and then does it just go straight to his siblings or do you start spreading the wealth through all charities that he would have wanted that money to go
to as well?
LOVE: Dax, there`s a rumor that I heard that there`s no will because he was so afraid because what happened with his old record contract and the
whole debacle, that he didn`t want to sign anything. And that`s the reason why -- and this -- like I said, it`s just a rumor. Did you hear that?
HOLT (on camera): that`s absolutely true. No. That`s absolutely true. We did report that that when he was younger, I guess he did have a bad
record deal, they took a lot of money from him and he was really afraid to sign documents. He -- it really messed with his head from a young age and
so he didn`t want to sign it. He had switched up a lot of his lawyers every year. He would trust young, beautiful, 20-year-old models to handle
his money when that wasn`t always the best decision. And it was just his life, I think. He kind of lived freely. He lived how he wanted to.
And if someone held a document to conforme, and he go, "Eh, I don`t want to sign that because I don`t know what you`re really doing."
PINSKY: I don`t know if any of you guys knew Prince, but I know Adrienne crashed a Prince party.
BAILON: Sure did. Best bad decision of my life. I do not regret that, not for a moment.
PINSKY: But do you remember it, it`s the question.
BAILON: I absolutely. No, I had the best time. Sheila E. was there perform -- literally in the man`s living room. I just remember even
walking up to the driveway and there was the symbol in the driveway with the purple light on it. And just an amazing night of incredible music. He
had so much energy, a phenomenal performer. I was in the man`s house, OK? It doesn`t get any better than that.
LOVE: I remember when he did the 21-day Residency in --

good use." And so that`s what I did. And we had dinner a couple of times, we went to a couple of Grammy parties together. I went to his house in
Vegas and had dinner with him. And I saw him drink wine but it was nothing over-the-top. It wasn`t anything out of -- he sure didn`t have more drinks
than I did.

PINSKY: There`s difference between dependency and, Dax, you used the word dependency, I heard you with Michael Lanus today describing this is a
dependency. I think that`s right. He may have been gotten dependent, have some consequence to that dependency, but that`s different from addiction
which is a progressive ongoing behavior or problem.
HOLT (on camera): Agree. Agree. And he started in, you know, in 2009 when the hip issue started up, say a doctor-prescribed Percocet to him, he
started using it, and he got the corrective surgery around 2010, and I think he just got used to using that Percocet to control the pain and, you

PINSKY: Former wrestling star, Chyna, found dead in her apartment last week. She was only 46. No official cause of death from the medical
examiner, but her manager, whom you saw speaking there, says it was likely an accidental overdose, once again, prescription medication. I am back
with the latest from the multi-Emmy-nominated "The Real."
MAI: That`s right.
BRAXTON: Yes.
MAI: You forgot that multi.
LOVE: Loni accused me of not saying Emmy-nominated, I left out the multi- Emmy-nominated. That`s what she shoved down my --
MAI: It`s gone to her head.
PINSKY: It did had, you guys. Watch out for my boo. I`m getting scared.
Joining me on the phone, I have Anthony Anzaldo. He is Chyna`s manager, longtime friend. And, Anthony, I`m so sorry, and you actually are the one
that found her.
ANZALDO (via telephone): Yes, that`s right. Sorry to you, too, Dr. Drew. I know how close you guys were as well. I do thank you for all the help
you`ve given us over the years with her.
PINSKY: What do you think happened?
ANZALDO (via telephone): Well, I mean, you know, as I said, I found her. She looked very peaceful. There was no vomit, you know, didn`t look like
it was a situation where she, you know, choked on something or, you know, took too much at one time. I think over the course of two to three week,
she had inadvertently took too much pain -- too much of her legally prescribed medication, which was Ambien and valium.
PINSKY: And that`s a really (INAUDIBLE), Anthony, is that -- well, particularly the Ambien, you forget, right? It`s --
ANZALDO (via telephone): Same with the benzo. I mean, yes. They -- she didn`t know by day, seven or eight, you know, she probably didn`t remember
what she took before and yesterday and, you know, you could take a pill tomorrow when your body could be ready for a pill today and they`ll be
ready for tomorrow. But if you stock them and you just keep taking day after day after day after day, your breathing begins to, you know --
PINSKY: Right.

ANZALDO (via telephone): She fell asleep on Sunday night and took her last breath. That`s what happened.
PINSKY: Tamar?
BRAXTON: What are you sick with to take valium and Ambien?
PINSKY: Why would you take both?
BRAXTON: Yes, why do you take both? What does -- what do they do?
PINSKY: One is it -- if a doctor were to prescribe both, I`m not suggesting that anyone ever should take both. I agree with you. It`s
dicey to get both. It would be an anxiety, it`s like a severe anxiety disturbance and a sleep problem. You`re trying to treat two different
things. I personally would not prescribe those two together.
BRAXTON: Wouldn`t the valium put you to sleep, though?
PINSKY: It can, but some people have bad anxiety disorders. They won`t go to sleep with anything except the big dose of -- it`s called the hypnotic.
It is a little bit different effect on the brain. But you`re right. I mean, all these medicines.
MAI: Right.
PINSKY: You know, I mean, there`s too much pills, everybody.
MAI: And the other -- sorry.
LOVE: Go ahead.
MAI: The other coincidence I`m noticing is that these are some of life`s greatest talents. So I just want to ask, what is the --
PINSKY: What`s the uniting feature, the -- couple things.
MAI: Unifying feature.
PINSKY: Couple things. One is -- actually, I did research on this. I`m the only person that can research because I have access to all you guys.
MAI: Tell us.
PINSKY: Well, it`s that you find a lot of childhood trauma and, what`s this, people with -- that are celebrities.
BAILON: So aren`t people being -- people need to be prescribed therapy, not a medicine.
PINSKY: That`s correct. That`s correct. But --
BAILON: Why don`t you go to hell to find out what hurt you --
PINSKY: Hundred percent --
BAILON: -- and work on it.
PINSKY: Hundred percent -- I`m thousand percent behind you, but what happens is they get the VIP label that Loni gets. Then they go in, they
complain about stuff.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.

LOVE: No. I think it is also about just not understanding your work. You work, you`re tired, you lose your days, you lose your nights. Because, I

because sometimes, therapy don`t work, you know. I mean, I have a drink or two every now and then. I`m not an alcoholic, but I do know --
PINSKY: We`ve talked about that. That you`re not. We`ve talked about that you`re not.
MAI: Yes. (INAUDIBLE) the shame.
LOVE: Shame. Shame, boo.
PINSKY: I need a shame (INAUDIBLE).
MAI: You need a punch (INAUDIBLE) up in here. Yes.
BAILON: Yes. If you were on our show and we have a segment called, "You Tried It," you tried it.
MAI: You tried it.
BRAXTON: A thousand. But finish, boo. Finish.
LOVE: But I`m thinking that there has to be -- we have to regulate ourselves and just as people, not even as celebrities at what we`re doing,
making sure we`re getting the right amount of rest and sleep and -- because, you know, the doctors are coming at us going, "Well, you know, if
you can`t sleep, take this pill." You know, you feel bad, take this, and we have to learn how to get away from that.
PINKSY: And celebrities tend to make a lot -- you said artists, tend to make a lot of money for people, they tend to love their work, they don`t
won`t want to take breaks, this is how it goes and it can spiral out, it`s difficult.
MAI: I also imagine for someone superbly famous, it`s hard to have a circuit of people you trust. Like, who is VIP at that point? Like, who is
somebody you really can trust especially in social media nowadays where everybody seems to be outed, you know what I mean?
PINSKY: You`re absolutely right. Listen, these are -- I could talk to you about this stuff. (INAUDIBLE) The Real episode.
MAI: I know.
LOVE: We should. Definitely should.
PINSKY: Because we get -- because really talking about celebrity in the dice. I`ve done the research on it and it`s not just being the celebrity,
it`s what they come to celebrity with in terms of their psychological liabilities.
Next up, police say a 16-year old girl because she was beaten up by other young girls in a high school bathroom. They have not been charged, why?

School of Technology in Delaware, a fight broke out between Amy and another student and others quickly joined in. Some students say the fight was over
a boy.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE (on camera): She`s not a fighter and she would not fight over something dumb.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE (voice-over): Amy was airlifted through a local children`s hospital where she was pronounced dead.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE (on camera): This is not a young lady who was involved in street activity, this is an honor-roll student, manager of the wrestling
team whose mother and father were very engaged in her life as well as her siblings.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE (on camera): That little girl got beat up inside of the bathroom. How many of you all stopped it?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Right.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE (on camera): Did anybody stop it?
PINSKY: Take a look, new tonight, an image from a cellphone camera. Oh, my God, I -- take that off, I can`t even look at this.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I know.
PINSKY: This is a 16 -- please take it off, seriously. That`s 16-year old Amy Joyner-Francis in the last moments of her life. Police say she was
assaulted and brutally killed by -- it gives me tears. I mean, this is --
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It really does.
PINSKY: That poor girl, this is a lovely girl, killed by her classmates in a high school bathroom. And with the host of The Real, obviously, Tamar,
Loni, Jeannie and Adrian, can you imagine that was your daughter or sister or --
BRAXTON: Well, I can imagine because that happened to me, except I didn`t die. I got beat up in a high school bathroom because I thought I was cute
and somebody`s boyfriend liked me. And I`m just sick to my stomach and upset at the fact that that little girl lost her life because someone
disagreed with somebody else liking somebody. It had nothing to do with her.
PINSKY: Boys ain`t worth it.
BRAXTON: It`s just ridiculous. Like, what did she do so bad to get so -- get -- to get beaten so bad. Like, what is the point? Now, how do you
feel? Now, she`s not even here. What about her parents, what about her siblings, what about her life?
LOVE: Well, I think it speaks -- exactly.
BRAXTON: God. I mean, that could`ve been anyone of us.
BAILON: Yes. Absolutely.
LOVE: It speaks about the violence in our society and how we don`t value things and this is why I`m glad we have a show like The Real because we go
through things like this. We talk about having self-esteem and understanding patience and love. This was a girl --
PINSKY: Also, by the way --
LOVE: -- who used to break up the fights.
PINSKY: I -- she was the peacemaker they called her, but also, women supporting women? You guys (INAUDIBLE) for that? I mean, women should be
supporting each other, not --
BRAXTON: And he`s right, why didn`t anyone break up the fight?
BAILON: No one broke that --
BRAXTON: Why didn`t everybody jump in and get that little kid?
BAILON: Instead, the next generation, instead of saying, "Hey, you guys, stop it," or even trying to separate it, they`re taking their phones out
and videoing it. Like that`s a problem.
MAI: That`s the trickiest part to me. That we live in a generation where a 16-year old honor roll student is murdered in the bathroom --
BAILON: Murdered.
MAI: -- while her classmates record it. What is that? What --
PINSKY: That is sad.
LOVE: But what can we do about it is the question. I mean, it was like, it happened, so let`s do something so it doesn`t happen again. Let`s start
talking to our children.
PINSKY: Let me get a report from Brittany Horn. She is a crime reporter for Delaware Online. Let`s talk a little bit Brittany about these girls
who actually perpetrated this disaster. Why have they not been charged?
BRITTANY HORN, CRIME REPORTER, DELAWARE ONLINE (via telephone): Well, that`s a good question. At this point, investigators have told us at
least, that they are still going through a lot of evidence and going through interviews. And as you mentioned, there`s a lot of things
circulating on social media.
Investigators have not confirmed any of the reports that have been going around on social media, but our police chief, Bobby Cummings did come out
earlier this week saying three girls are going to be charged criminally, but we don`t exactly know what that means or how severe those charges will
be.
MAI: Murder.
HORN: He has said before though that he was hoping to wrap it up by the end of this week. At this point, there is no indication though whether
charges will be filed by the end of the week or not.
PINSKY: Brittany, is there any chance they`ll be charged as adults did you say?
HORN: Oh, that`s a great question. At this point, investigators, like I said, have kept everything pretty close to the cuff and really have not
said much other than what we`ve seen so far, which is again, they know Amy was seriously assaulted in the bathroom, but what led up to that and all
those details are still kind of left to be determined.
LOVE: Brittany, has the families of these girls come out and said anything? Has anybody said anything?
HORN: So the family has actually appointed a spokesperson to speak on their behalf. From what we have heard, the family is very private but
obviously devastated by what they`ve been through.
PINSKY: I do have somebody from the family coming in here after the next break, so --
MAI: Oh, great.
PINSKY: -- we`ll get a little bit of something.
LOVE: OK.
BRAXTON: OK.
PINSKY: But go ahead, Brittany. Are they in school now, these girls that perpetrated this? Are they still --
HORN: The girls have been suspended from school. Officials have said they are not going to be able to return until --
BAILON: You think?
HORN: -- a decision is made criminally at least at this point.
MAI: Until?
HORN: But what we do know, I know that we are really just waiting on answers at this point and I think (INAUDIBLE) is really demanding that
answers come out very, very soon. The State Department of Justice did tell us today that part of this investigation really is going through all of
these social media posts that they`re seeing and that with every new social media post, the investigation is going to take longer because of
(INAUDIBLE) and determine what is real and what`s not.
PINSKY: Jeannie?
MAI: Well, I don`t understand why are they being suspended? Why are they not thrown somewhere in a cell where they belong like animals? If they`re
going to treat other human beings like animals, they`re not supposed to be --
LOVE: No. Wait. No, you can`t do that because --
MAI: It`s called juvenile hall, yes you can.
LOVE: No, it`s called -- you have to give them -- you have to look through the evidence, you have to get the stories. You just can`t just push them
away.
MAI: We do that to adults today.
BAILON: Yes. But you`re suspect, you go in.

PINSKY: Hold on.
BRAXTON: In my experience, there is no justice in bullying, it stays with you forever.
PINSKY: And you know what else, it`s important to remember one of the little video clips there brought this out, but there`s multiple
relationship to the bully. There`s the bully, the person being bullied, the person who confronts a bully and the person who supports a victim and
then there are bystanders.
BAILON: Come on.
PINSKY: Let us not be a bystander, everybody.

PINSKY: Three teenage girls will be charged this week in the beating death of their classmate Amy Joyner-Francis. The 16-year old died shortly after
a fight in her high school bathroom. Back with the hosts of the multi-EMI nominated The Real, Tamar, Loni, Jeannie and Adrienne.
On the phone, I have Sherry Dorsey Walker, spokeswoman for the family of Amy Joyner-Francis. Sherry, we are beyond upset about this story and our
condolences to the family.
SHERRY DORSEY WALKER, SPOKESWOMAN FOR THE FAMILY OF AMY JOYNER-FRANCIS (via telephone): Thank you. I`ll share that with them.
PINSKY: My understanding -- I guess you guys have questions really about why other -- the girls aren`t being held accountable. I guess they will
be. Do you guys have any position on this? The family?
WALKER: Well, in actuality, the family is very private. And as I shared with your producer, at this point, they will not be making a formal comment
about that but I can tell you about Amy`s character.
PINSKY: Please, tell us.
WALKER: Yes. Amy was wonderful young lady and the same day -- and I`d like to say this, the same day that Prince died to a comma, Prince and the
princess because Amy was indeed a princess. You`re talking about a young lady who was a peacemaker who loved the Lord, loved the community, loved
her family. And this is a huge loss for her family, it`s a great loss for her school community, and to be quite honest, we as a nation lost a leader.
PINSKY: Yes. And again, another symptom of the sickness that we are all suffering from in this country, would you guys agree?
BAILON: Absolutely.
BRAXTON: Definitely. Can you tell me, has the family heard from the ladies who did this to Amy?
WALKER: At this point, they will not be making any kind of formal comments about whether or not they just heard from anyone. As I shared with your
producer, I would just be talking about Amy`s character.
PINSKY: OK. OK. Thanks, Sherry. I don`t want to put you in a bad position at all. It`s certainly, absolutely not our intention.
MAI: Well, I respect that family. They`re handling it a lot better than I do.
BAILON: Very classy.
BRAXTON: Well, on the behalf of those other girls, I`m sorry because that`s ridiculous.
MAI: Yes. Wow.
PINSKY: I`ll tell you something else that came up on our social media feed which is, a lot of our viewers want the parents of the girls somehow held
accountable. You hear that -- I don`t have an opinion on this, but I understand that`s -- and I`m sympathetic to that feeling. Like, what`s up
with the parents, why weren`t they involved? Why didn`t they -- did they know their daughters were violent?
BAILON: I think sadly, in general, it`s become such a common thing, sadly on reality television, you have a disagreement with somebody. Instead of
talking it out, you climb across the table and yank their hair.
PINSKY: Here`s another thing.
BAILON: That`s not normal behavior.
PINSKY: That`s sick behavior.
BAILON: That is not normal.
PINSKY: Completely agree with you. Here`s another -- this is another issue. This is from our viewer, Damien who sent me this message. "Drew,
if it had been boys, police would`ve charged them to the fullest extent of the law."
BRAXTON: Come on now.
PINSKY: Well, you think so?
MAI: Absolutely.
BRAXTON: Absolutely. They would`ve called violent --
PINKSY: Thugs.
BRAXTON: -- they would`ve been called killer, thugs, murderers. It would`ve been all over the news. Ridiculousness. Now, this right here for
me, for everyone to be so silent about it is doing a de-service to the community in my opinion.
PINSKY: And then it also begs the issue of women being so brutal to one another. There`s a time when (INAUDIBLE) together.
LOVE: But it goes back to what Adrienne said. You have these reality shows --
BAILON: They think that`s normal.
LOVE: -- these kids are watching. You know, they`re watching what`s on television and it`s bad.
BAILON: Beating each other up. Women fighting each other, grabbing each other`s hair. Like, that`s not normal behavior and the fact that you see
that on a daily basis on reality shows, these young women are watching that thing. "Oh, I`m mad because she took my boyfriend and that`s the right way
to react." That is not the right way to react.
LOVE: Because reality shows are not reality.
BAILON: That is not reality.
BRAXTON: And that`s why our show doesn`t support shows like that --
BAILON: No.
BRAXTON: -- because we don`t want to send that kind of a message out to our viewers who look up to us.
PINSKY: That`s why you`re called The Real not reality.
BAILON: Correct.

PINSKY: And so the important thing is, if you`re having problems, whether it`s either personal, see a marital therapist, if it`s biological, get on
the hormone therapy if necessary. You`re post-menopausal or something. If it`s a man, get a medical work up and get on proper medication. If it`s
the kids, get time away. There`s always a reason, there`s always a way to solve that problem, but you have to make it a priority, thank you, boo.
