CHERYL SPENCER, MORRISVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: My name is Cheryl Spencer from Morrisville, North Carolina.
My question to CNN is: What are the best family vacation destinations in America that the average family can afford?
STEPHANIE OSWALD, CNN CORRESPONDENT: With this year's sluggish economy, it's no surprise many people are looking for budget-friendly vacations. To answer your question, we turned to "Family Fun" magazine's top 12 list of great family destinations and put them to the affordability test.
Vacations in the great outdoors are high on the list thanks to camping options and low park admission prices. One example is Mount Rushmore and the Badlands National Park in South Dakota. Mixing history with nature comes at a reasonable price. Just under $20 gets your car into both places. Plus there's plenty of camping in the area for around $10 a night.
Families wanting to add some amusement park fun to their holiday might want to head for San Diego, the home of SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo, where admission prices are lower than most other large theme parks. A family of four can take in both attractions for about $200.
So those are just a few ideas if you're looking for a budget- friendly family vacation.
