PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: We head back to Washington, D.C. right now where John King has some news for us -- good morning again, John.

JOHN KING, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning to you, Paula.

Just a quick update: As you noted earlier, 11:30 today we will hear from the president as to what Americans can do -- charitable contributions -- to help the relief effort.

My colleague, Major Garrett, at the White House telling us just moments ago the president also sending a memo to the White House staff of the executive branch staff this morning asking them to pause at 8:45 a.m. this morning, just a short time away from now -- 8:45 a.m. Eastern Time -- pause this morning in a moment of silence for those killed and injured in those twin terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and across the Potomac River here at the Pentagon -- Paula.

ZAHN: All right, John King.
