THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Let's get a check of the business headlines once again. David Haffenreffer in New York checking in -- David.
DAVID HAFFENREFFER, CNN FINANCIAL NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Hi, Leon. Hi, Daryn.
Well, it is already shaping up to be a very busy week for Wall Street, especially on the economic front.
A number of reports being released will further show the impact of those September 11 attacks. Among them: monthly consumer confidence numbers due out tomorrow. On Wednesday, we'll get our crucial first look at third-quarter gross domestic product. And the always closely-watched monthly jobs report is coming out Friday. The unemployment rate is expected to climb above 5 percent as part of that report.
We'll see if any of those numbers help or stall the market's recent momentum. Major indices finished in positive territory once again last week, as investors continue to shrug off weak economic data and corporate earnings.
Among the stocks to watch this morning, certainly Boeing and Lockheed Martin -- this after Lockheed won a massive contract by the Defense Department to build the nation's next-generation fighter jet: the joint strike fighter. Lockheed says it will bring -- it is willing to bring Boeing in as a subcontractor if the government wishes.
And that is the latest financial news on this Monday morning.
