THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: We have a look at business news with David Haffenreffer in New York -- good morning again.
DAVID HAFFENREFFER, CNN FINANCIAL NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Hi, Catherine. Hi, Leon.
Well, we'll see if Wall Street can't continue its upward march. Stock index futures pointing to a flat to slightly higher open when trading gets under way at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time.
Only the Dow industrials could hold onto gains yesterday. The blue chip average rose a half percent for its third straight advance -- not bad.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq composite lost a few points, but still held above the psychologically important 1900 level.
In corporate news, Dell Computer will be a stock to watch today. The PC maker edging past Wall Street's earnings expectations, but has said profits slid 36 percent on weak demand for computers, and a fierce price war.
Yahoo! announced a restructuring plan that will cut 10 percent of its work force. That's about 300 jobs. And the retail chain, Gap, reported a rare loss for the quarter. And Home Depot says it's increasing its quarterly dividend by 25 percent.
That is a quick check of the business headlines on this Friday morning.
