DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Now we have an update on a story we told you about earlier this week. Do you remember the story about the missing engagement ring? A woman was frantically looking for her lost diamond at the Denver airport. A man found the diamond but didn't know who the woman was who it belonged to.
Well now we have the follow up, and here's Heidi Collins from KUSA with that.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
HEATHER VLCHEK, DIAMOND RING OWNER: My stomach jumped into my throat. Very, very, very, almost sick about it.
HEIDI COLLINS, KUSA-TV REPORTER (voice-over): Sick that this is all Heather Vlchek has left of her diamond engagement ring only three weeks old.
VLCHEK: It's very, very, very large on my finger, and I haven't really had a chance to go and get it sized which is why it fell off in the first place.
COLLINS: After hours of searching, Heather, her fiance, Al, and her mother, Pat, went home. It wasn't until they watched the news that night that they thought there might be a chance the diamond wasn't lost for good.
VLCHEK: It's like, Heather, put on night news (ph) right now, I think they found your diamond.
COLLINS: It was Tim Leavitt who spotted the stone in a puddle of slush.
TIM LEAVITT, FOUND DIAMOND: How are you?
VLCHEK: Hi, I'm Heather.
LEAVITT: I'm Tim.
VLCHEK: Thank you, Tim, so, so, so much.
LEAVITT: You bet. (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
VLCHEK: I can't even tell you (UNINTELLIGIBLE). LEAVITT: How does that look to you?
VLCHEK: It looks -- it's...
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh my god.
VLCHEK: That is unbelievable.
COLLINS: And for Heather's fiance, a sigh of relief.
AL: And I don't know what I was going to do. I mean I couldn't afford to buy another, absolutely not.
COLLINS: Their gratitude to Tim Leavitt is immeasurable.
VLCHEK: This is nothing short of a miracle, absolutely. Thank you so much.
COLLINS: They believe, partly because of him, their marriage is sure to have a special sparkle.
VLCHEK: I cannot believe that. This is absolutely a blessing, absolutely. I feel like we are charmed. We've known forever that we're in this together.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
KAGAN: We'll have to see if he gets an invitation to the wedding. That happy ending of a story brought to us by Heidi Collins of our affiliate station KUSA in Denver.
