CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We always forget to pull up the poor St. Louis fans who must be feeling very, very sad this morning, and we feel sad for you, but we have to talk about the New England Patriot's quarterback. Tom Brady is not only the youngest quarterback to guide his team to a Super Bowl win, he's also the MVP of Super Bowl XXXVI.
CNN's Sports Illustrator reporter Irving Fryer talked with Brady after the game.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
IRVING FRYER, CNN SPORTS ILLUSTRATED CORRESPONDENT: I'm here with the Super Bowl XXXVI MVP Tom Brady. What in the world did you just do, Tom?
TOM BRADY, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOT'S QUARTERBACK: Well I think this team came out and just proved to everybody what we were -- what we've been doing all year. And you know, people love to see these teams that come out and win by 50 points, and we're the type of team that comes through when you -- when we need it. And the offense, defense, special team, just -- it was a team game and we have the ultimate team in the Patriots this year.
FRYER: It's an incredible journey for you this year. You come in after Drew gets hurt. I mean you win and you keep winning and you keep on winning. Describe how you feel right now.
BRADY: It's just -- it really hadn't even sunk in. It's just -- it's like you win and it's always on to next week. So at this point there's no one to go on to, you know, it's just maybe go on to rest finally, you know, just regroup.
FRYER: What exactly was the game plan coming into this game, Tom?
BRADY: Game plan was to mix it up and we felt we could run the ball. We ran it against them last time. We threw it pretty well against them last time and we thought we could go out there and do the same type of things. And you know it -- there were a lot of spots, lot of guys open today. And we ran the ball well. You know their offense was on the field, we didn't -- we didn't stay on the field for those third down conversions but you know, in the -- in the end, we needed to make that drive, we did.
FRYER: Tell me a little bit about Drew Bledsoe.
BRADY: Just an incredible person. And his support after the game, I mean the genuiness, you know, of his, you know, thanks. You know his just being together for as long as -- you know for two years. And you know with the situation this year, as tough as it was for him to watch me out there and to watch our team winning, you know he's been a part of the New England Patriots for a lot of years and he's been a -- you know he really set the standard on how to be a great quarterback in this league. And I'm just trying to live up to what he set.
FRYER: Thanks, Tom, congratulations, Super Bowl XXXVI MVP.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
COSTELLO: That is so awesome. In case you're wondering, Tom Brady is 24 and 189 days old.
How calm was he before the game you ask? Well after pregame warm-up, he took a nap on the locker room floor just before kickoff.
You go, Tom.
