CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: And now for the latest on the terror war. CNN has learned that five men on a new FBI list are suspects who are already in jail in Yemen. Officials say the five are part of a group of 17 suspects linked to Fawaz Yahya al-Rabeei. The FBI alert says the group may be planning an attack against the United States and its interests as early as this week.

We have heard a lot about security for U.S. forces guarding detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

As CNN's Jason Carroll reports, those safeguards extend beyond Camp X-Ray's gates.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You guys are high. Get 'em down!

JASON CARROLL, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): These are the hills above Camp X-Ray in Guantanamo Bay.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Get out of the trench. Last warning.

CARROLL: It's the site of the first ever training drill of its kind on the American base.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Get my team up here.

CARROLL: A group of Marines have tracked down a possible intruder near the detainee camp.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We found a camera on him. No other items. Over.

CARROLL: The exercise is part of the military's anti-terrorism force protection plan. It's a plan to respond to just about any security threat here. They say drills like this help them meet one of their greatest challenges.

COL. TERRY CARRICO, U.S. ARMY: One, that challenge that you always have to maintain in this type of an environment, is as your forces become familiar and complacency sets in, you have to stay on top of your soldiers.

CARROLL: Same security plan, a different scenario, this time offshore, where an unidentified boat has been sighted.

(on camera): Right now we're on board a Coast Guard helicopter. Lieutenant Aaron Gleason (ph) is our pilot. If this was a real situation, Lieutenant Gleason would be able to relay back and coordinate information about the approaching vessel, such as how many people are on board and whether or not they have weapons.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The escort now appears to be a 322S white pleasure craft. I see five (UNINTELLIGIBLE) at this time.

CARROLL (voice-over): This time the solution is to escort the boat away from shore. It is not dangerous. Again, the goal for the military, to stay sharp at a place where so far the only signs of trouble have bee simulated ones.

Jason Carroll, CNN, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
