CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Did you hear about the lottery winners?

CHAD MYERS, METEOROLOGIST: Yes. I'm playing tonight.

COSTELLO: Are you?

MYERS: Yes.

COSTELLO: Yes, well good luck.

A $20 investment has turned into a $60 million payoff for a California man.

Lance Evans of our San Francisco affiliate KPIX has this sweet story.

LANCE EVANS, KPIX-TV REPORTER (voice-over): We caught up with one of California's newest millionaires on his way to celebrating his share of the nation's largest state jackpot in history.

(on camera): What was your reaction when you realized?

ANDY KAMPE, LOTTO JACKPOT WINNER: I just bought the paper the next day and now I got them from the paper.

EVANS: And what did you do when you saw it?

AN. KAMPE: It was hard to believe. I just don't believe it quite yet.

EVANS (voice-over): Andy Kampe was with his family Sunday morning when he realized he held the winning numbers.

AMANDA KAMPE, WINNER'S DAUGHTER: And I said did you check it? Check it again. You know are you sure those the numbers? Yes, we just checked it over and over, and we couldn't breathe, you know. It's -- it just doesn't happen to people like us so.

(LAUGHTER)

EVANS (voice-over): But it did, to Andy, a self-employed engineer, to his wife, Diane, a nursing facility employee and to Amanda, his married daughter.

AM. KAMPE: We're just plain old normal people, we're not millionaires.

(LAUGHTER)

EVANS (on camera): Well now you are.

AM. KAMPE: Yes, I know.

(LAUGHTER)

EVANS (voice-over): They all live in a house, off a quiet road in a secluded part of the San Mateo County mountains. Andy bought his Super Lotto tickets Friday from this Albertsons in Half Moon Bay, 20 cash value quick picks.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It's wonderful. It's wonderful. I wish everybody could have won a little bit of it.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: If there's any family members in need that they'll help out and that they'll donate to charity. I mean of course taking care of their own needs first.

EVANS: Andy's ticket is one of three that hit the $193 million jackpot. Each holder will receive $64.3 million before taxes. So far, the other two winners haven't stepped forward, and Albertsons gets over $320,000 for selling the winning ticket.

How does Andy plan on enjoying his newfound wealth?

AN. KAMPE: I've been working all my life pretty hard so I want to play some, you know, so that's what I'm going to do.

EVANS (on camera): And what's in store for play?

AN. KAMPE: Oh, vacations and trips and time, you know, for myself.
