CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We can help -- an American pledge this morning to aid the Saudis in their search for justice. Seventeen now dead in that suicide bombing in Riyadh.
Nic Robertson is there.

NIC ROBERTSON, CNN SENIOR INTERNATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: Government sources here say they expect at least one more attack, and that, they expect, could come at any time.

They have increased security in Riyadh. They have increased security in other areas around the country. They have deployed some 4,600 troops to the holy city of Mecca. What they intend to do by that is to stop any kind of terrorist attack taking place in this very important city during the holy month of Ramadan. The holy month of Ramadan has another three weeks to go.

The government sources here also say that they expect the death toll from Saturday's blast to climb, they say. But at this time, there are only 17 people who've died. That figure, they say, could climb perhaps into the middle 20s.

They also say that the security that they've improved around Riyadh and in other places may not necessarily be enough to stop attacks. The interior minister here in Saudi Arabia has said that he intends to crush al Qaeda, who he holds responsible for Saturday's attack. Indeed, he likened Saudi Arabia's current situation, if you will, as Saudi Arabia's war against terrorism.

Nic Robertson, CNN, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
