CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Time now, though, for a little 'Business Buzz.' Tune in football fans, Carrie Lee has a story for you from the Nasdaq market site in Times Square.
What is it?
CARRIE LEE, CNN FINANCIAL NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Well, Carol, Sirius Satellite Radio has inked a deal with the National Football League, and it's going to start broadcasting professional football games beginning in the year 2004.
Now this is a seven-year deal. And as part of it, Sirius gets national broadcast rights to all regular season NFL games, select preseason and playoff contests. Now also as part of this deal, Sirius is going to create an additional sports channel, the NFL Radio Network. And this is going to be an exclusive 24-hour stream of pro football content, including news, features and other NFL related programming. So sports fans, Carol, will never be too far from the action if they have a subscription to Sirius.
COSTELLO: Yes, I think we should see that touchdown reception one more time.
LEE: You know for investors, Sirius and the big competitor here, XM Satellite Radio, have done very well. XMSR, which is the bigger company here, one of the best performing stocks here at the Nasdaq, up over 700 percent so far year to date.
COSTELLO: You're kidding? That's fantastic.
LEE: Yes, a lot of people buying in. Yes, people say this is really the wave of the radio future.
COSTELLO: I'll have to look into that.
Quick look at the futures.
LEE: Yes, we are expecting a little bit of a sell off this Wednesday morning. Of course yesterday very nice gains on the Dow, up over 100 points, hitting a 19-month high. You can see right there the Dow up 106 points. The Nasdaq, the S&P 500 also gaining fractionally, but it was really, Carol, the blue chips leading the way. So we're expecting a little bit of a pullback, at least in the early going this morning.
Back to you.
COSTELLO: All right, Carrie Lee live from the Nasdaq market site.
