KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: We're going to get in a few more movies before the school year starts. We have a couple of new flicks out today that you might want to check out. "Spy Kids 2" and Jennifer Aniston's new movie, "Good Girl."
Joining us for a preview is CNNEspanol's Anna Maria Montero. She's live in L.A.

Hi -- Anna Maria.

ANNA MARIA MONTERO, CNNESPANOL CORRESPONDENT: Hey.

PHILLIPS: Good to see you.

Why don't we start talking about "Good Girl." Is this movie about you?

MONTERO: I don't know. That might be a little too much personal information -- no.

Actually, it is about Jennifer Aniston. And she plays Justine, which is an interesting character for her, because in the film -- this is a great scene by the way, the scene that we're seeing right now -- she call its circ d'face (ph), the makeup she's doing. But anyway, she's a co-worker of Jennifer's. Jennifer plays a role with Justine, as we see her here. She's a Texan, she's kind of going through a crisis in her life. You know, one of those things where what do I do -- it's a heavy sort of role, which is different for her, because we're used to seeing her as Rachel Green in "Friends."

PHILLIPS: Is she wanting to break out of sort of that comedy and move in to more of a dramatic type of acting role?

MONTERO: Absolutely. I think that is definitely the plan for her. As an actor, she says she wants to do everything. And she wants to do the gamut. But I definitely think that this is an important move for her career in terms of acting. She does want to kind of -- this is the last season of "Friends" anyway.

PHILLIPS: Sure. How did she do?

MONTERO: I think she was all right. For me, she broke the Rachel mode. I think she really broke through that, and I think she will with a lot of audiences. Critics are raving about it.

PHILLIPS: Also for the little Latin flair there, the director of the film a Puerto Rican. MONTERO: He is Puerto Rican. He's wonderful: Miguel Arteta. This is his third film. He previously directed "Star Map" and recently did "Chuck&Buck," with the Weitz brothers. I don't know if you had a chance to see that. Those sort of independent movies picked up by studios, distributed by Artisan. And now he just got picked up by Fox Searchlight at Sundance for this film. So this is really a big deal for him. And from the Espanol, we're very proud of him.

PHILLIPS: And also in the Espanol community, "Spy Kids 2" -- a lot of Latinisms in there, as you say.

MONTERO: Yes. Definitely. This is a Latin family. It's about family. But it is definitely a Latino family. Starting with fact that they are named the Cortezes, you have got Gregory Cortez, which is Antonio Banderas; his wife, Carla Gugino, is also a Cortez; the kids have these crazy long Latin names, very funny.

This is really wonderful because this brings in her parents. His mother is Holland Taylor and we have Ricardo Montalban -- do you remember him?

PHILLIPS: Talk about a flashback.

MONTERO: I know. "Fantasy Island." He's just exactly the same as -- now he's in a wheelchair, unfortunately, but his spirit is intact. He's such a gentleman.

PHILLIPS: Wow.

MONTERO: Yes.

PHILLIPS: He always displayed that. And Antonio Banderas, you cannot miss that. You cannot mess with that.

MONTERO: No you cannot.

PHILLIPS: All right. Anna Maria Montero, thank you so much. We'll see you again when the next flicks, OK?

MONTERO: Thanks, Kyra, take care. Bye.

PHILLIPS: Bye.
