KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: There's a mystery here in Atlanta. Who dumped a little girl in a downtown parking lot, just two hours after she was born?
Jon Shirek of our affiliate station WXIA tells us she has no shortage of love right now.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

EDDIE STEVENS, RESCUER: The baby will be all right. I'll be fine with that.

JON SHIREK, WXIA REPORTER (voice-over): Eddie Stevens may have saved her life.

STEVENS: I come through this parking lot and seen this bundle laying over here on the ledge. So I stopped.

SHIREK: Stevens drives a delivery truck for Franklin's Printing. He saw the bundle behind the print shop and he discovered a newborn girl was inside the bundle -- realized it before she could fall off of the ledge.

STEVENS: Whoever put her there wanted somebody to find it quick, I guess.

SHIREK: Stevens and fellow employee Paul Valdez (ph) took the baby inside the print shop where sales assistant Mai Carter took one look and...

MAI CARTER, SALES ASSISTANT: I took her. I just, I grabbed her. Mama reaction. I'm a mother, I have a 10-month-old. And a 10-year- old so, automatic. I just took her.

SHIREK: The baby that had just been abandoned suddenly had a whole office full of love and care.

CARTER: Beautiful, healthy, head full of hair. Umbilical cord still on.

BRIGITE COLLINS, PRINT SHOP EMPLOYEE: Just started crying, and everyone around here felt like they were bonding with her instantly. She was just beautiful.

SHIREK: They say the infant was wrapped in two towels that had lots of dog hair on them. No clues as to who the mother is. While they waited for the ambulance to arrive, they wrapped her in a clean blanket and kept her warm.

CARTER: If I had a name to give her, I'd just call her love because that's all I have. She's gorgeous. She is a -- she is a beautiful little girl. Gorgeous.

COLLINS: It's a sad story. But I wonder if this mom just had been at the end of her rope. I am glad she left her in a place where we could find her.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

PHILLIPS: And we're told that little girl remains in stable condition now.
