DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: We learned earlier today that the latest victim is from Arlington, Virginia, that her name is Linda Franklin, and that she worked for the FBI. The FBI plans a news conference to talk about their employee later today.
Our Bob Franken is in her Arlington neighborhood right now.
Bob, hello.
BOB FRANKEN, CNN NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: Hello.
And it's just one of the tragic ironies about this particular shooting, that she did work for the FBI -- not an FBI agent, but what the Federal Bureau of Investigation describes as an analyst. Specifically, she was an intelligence operations specialist. We've been told by sources that her specialty was computers. She was working for the Infrastructure Protection Section of the FBI.
Prior to that, she had worked for the Counterterrorism Division. This is a woman who has two grown children. She was with her husband, as we know, last night when the shooting occurred at the Home Depot.
Now, there has been a parade of FBI officials going into the house and a few friends. We've been kept away for obvious reasons. We're hoping to learn more about her later. But we're told by the FBI that there's going to be very little discussion about that. There is an internal memo, we're being told, that's going to be sent out by the FBI director, Robert Mueller.
As I said, some friends who have been coming in -- don't know if they're family or not. We've seen any number of FBI agents walk into the room -- not just so much for investigative purposes -- although I suspect that that's had something to do with it -- but because they wanted to offer some comfort to the family, the family that is promising to tell us a little bit more about Linda Franklin a little bit later in the day. We do know that she was 47 years old, as I may have mentioned a moment ago.
Now, here's the other very tragic irony. This is a transient neighborhood. None of the neighbors we've been able to find actually met Linda Franklin or her husband, or at least remembers anything more than a passing conversation. Can't tell us much about it. Very transient neighborhood.
The tragic irony is that the Franklins were planning to move from this neighborhood on Friday. There's a considerable amount of guessing, including some of the FBI agents. That may be why, on this particular night -- last night -- they were at the Home Depot -- Daryn.
KAGAN: Well, Bob, the scene you're seeing of people pouring into a home and offering their condolences -- that is a scene that has become all too familiar from Philadelphia all the way across the D.C. area over the last 12 days.
We'll come back to you as that news conference does begin later in the next hour.
