KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: The busiest airport in Texas is bracing for about 2 million passengers by the end of Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
CNN's Ed Lavandera is watching the travel rush at Dallas-Ft. Worth International. He joins us from there -- hi, Ed.

ED LAVANDERA, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hi, Kyra. Well, here, part of the experience on this busy travel day is the folks here at this airport trying to make this experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone. They've got folks walking through the airport, helping people out with directions and that sort of thing, people handing out popcorn and doughnuts. We even have been treated to musical treats throughout the day here as well.

The folks here trying to adhere to that policy, that rule, of getting people through the security checkpoints in about ten minutes and we're told that people moving through the security checkpoints here in about six minutes. This is what lines have looked like throughout most of the time. Every once in a while, there'll be a big rush of people to come in through this particular gate. But for the most part, the passengers we've talked with saying they're enjoying a pretty smooth sailing process through all of this so far, Kyra.

You can see kind of just how busy things have been here. There's, from the airport cam, from one of our local CNN affiliates here, showing the traffic here at the airport. And perhaps probably the most ingenious part of what they've been doing all day has been the musical treats. Here's an idea of just kind of the things that they're doing here to keep people entertained. Listen in to the banjo, Kyra.

There you go, Kyra, all part of the process, making everything here on this busy day extremely fun for as many people as possible. This is supposed to make everything more soothing and more enjoyable as you go through the ticket counter and the security gates here, Kyra.

PHILLIPS: Is our banjo friend traveling there, Ed?

LAVANDERA: I don't know if he's traveling, but he just -- actually he just started about two minutes ago. It's been like this all day long, let me tell you, though.

PHILLIPS: It kind of makes me a little nervous, people hanging out there at the airport, Ed. All right. Be careful.

LAVANDERA: You got to perform where you can.

PHILLIPS: There you go. Check in with you later. Thanks, Ed. Banjo and all.
