KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Talk about a Christmas stocking stuffer. Some lucky person is holding a Powerball ticket worth nearly $315 million, and we'll find out who that is at the top of the hour.
Jason Bellini live from Charleston, West Virginia, where the winning ticket was sold.
Jason, do you think that person or persons will show up?
JASON BELLINI, CNN CORRESPONDENT: We already have the answer to that question. In fact, the person who won -- now, this is one person who had the single ticket, winning ticket, is here on site right now, and we're going to meet that person fairly soon, and the lottery official is also here with to tell me a little bit about him. You've already met the man. This is Libby White, and you're with the West Virginia lottery?
LIBBY WHITE, WEST VIRGINIA LOTTERY: Yes.
BELLINI: So tell us what you can tell us about this winner.
WHITE: It's a great day here in West Virginia. We are thrilled. We have a wonderful winner, wonderful family, 55-year-old man, who is president of -- has his own construction company, and really, we couldn't ask for a better family to win this money.
BELLINI: Another question for you, Have they decided whether to take the lump sum, or to get it in installments?
WHITE: I don't know that yet. I would assume, probably the lump sum.
BELLINI: We also know now that the ticket has been verified, so it is official. The winner has been declared, and can you also tell me, how is the family right now? They're inside, what are their emotions like?
WHITE: They seem calm. I doubt they've slept at all, but they seem like they're holding up well, very excited, of course.
BELLINI: And they called about 3:00 in the morning to tell you?
WHITE: Yes. They were so happy.
BELLINI: Amazing. And, again, this is a record jackpot for a single winner. And the amount is?
WHITE: $315 million!
BELLINI: Have you asked them what they're going to do with the money?
WHITE: Yes. They're going to be very generous with their church and their family.
BELLINI: Well, we'll get to meet the family pretty soon here, at 3:00. There's also some other winners here in West Virginia. There's one other person who won $100,000, who's also here on site, a 21-year- old who is here with his father. He's from West Virginia university. Also, one other winner, who is the person who sold -- the owner of the store that sold the winning ticket will receive $100, 000. We caught up with him earlier.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LARRY TROGDON, STORE OWNER: I have a daughter getting married in June, so that's -- that will help that. Plus we, you know, we have stores and bills, and that will take care of some of that.
BELLINI: Employees getting any?
TROGDON: We'll have to see. I hope they get something. They work here.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BELLINI: West Virginia has won the jackpot. That's the headline here on the "Charleston Daily Mail."
Back to you, Kyra.
PHILLIPS: All right, we look forward to meeting that family. Thank you.
