KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: So what's the next big gizmo on the technology scene? Well each year, thousands of tech types descend down on 2003 and Scottsville, Arizona to find out.
CNN's very own inspector gadget Daniel Sieberg is there on the hunt for some cool digital gear -- hi Daniel.
DANIEL SIEBERG, CNN TECHNOLOGY CORRESPONDENT: Hi Kyra, that's right, the demo show is really where the buzz begins in the tech world.
You know, products like the palm pilot and TiVo got their start here over the past 13 years. You get a real chance to get a sneak peek at some stuff.
Speaking of sneak peek, we're going to get a sneak peek right now at some technology from FullAudio. FullAudio is a service that allows people to get digital music streamed and downloaded, and I'm joined by Chris Gladwin -- he is one of the cofounders...
CHRIS GLADWIN, FULLAUDIO: Right.
SIEBERG: ... of FullAudio. Tell me what this new service is going to offer people.
GLADWIN: Right. The service has a database with hundreds of thousands of popular songs, but in addition it has a way to help you find music that you may not know that you're going to like that you will like.
SIEBERG: OK well you've also made a way to organize the music and let people know what they're searching for. We're in the -- the "shag" lounge. Right now.
So you kind of know what you're -- what you're getting with this. All right, this is an example of a channel, and a channel organizes music around a theme with a personality that provides an easy way to find what you like and it's just simply a fun way to explore music.
And of course you also have to pay a subscription fee for this service as well and these songs expire in a sense, right? Tell me about that, how you're combating piracy?
GLADWIN: In this service, you're going to be able to burn songs onto CD, you're going to be able to play songs on demand, and because of the way this service is built all the artists and songwriters who make that music are compensated for what they do.
SIEBERG: And you do work with the record companies, they provide you with concepts -- you're in a sense competing with them as well, right? Press play or music now?
GLADWIN: Right, we both license music from them, as well as compete with some ventures they've created on line.
SIEBERG: So doing it legally. Is the important thing to point out.
GLADWIN: This is legal and it rewards people for making great music.
SIEBERG: OK, great, well, Chris Gladwin, from FullAudio thanks so much for joining us to talk about this technology.
Going to be hitting the market fairly soon, Kyra. I guess since we're hanging out in the shag lounge, you could call me Leisure Suit Larry. Kyra, back to you.
PHILLIPS: Oh, you're much classier than that. Daniel Sieberg, thank you.
