(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE) RENAY SAN MIGUEL, CNN ANCHOR (voice-over): 5:26 a.m.: CNN's Brent Sadler reports from the town of Khanaqin in northern Iraq, which he says is part of a huge area in the hands of Kurdish fighters. 6:05 a.m.: From Central Command, CNN's Tom Mintier reports U.S. troops today targeted a mosque in Baghdad where senior Iraqi leaders were believed to be meeting. One marine killed was killed and 22 were wounded. 6:09 a.m.: CNN's Ben Wedeman reports from the city of Kirkuk that the Iraqi northern front is collapsing quickly and Kurdish fighters have seized part of Kirkuk with little resistance. 7:16 a.m.: Central Command says coalition control five airbases in Iraq. Major General Gene Renwart (ph) says all major roads into Baghdad are cordoned off, making it impossible for large numbers of reinforcements to make their way into the city. 8:46 a.m.: A crowd in Kirkuk knock downs a statue of Saddam Hussein. 9:22 a.m.: CNN's Kevin Sites reports from Kirkuk that he's seeing many men who appear to be Iraqi soldiers; most out of them out of uniform making their way toward the city of Tikrit, the ancestral home of Saddam Hussein. 11:55 a.m.: CNN's Walter Rodgers reports four U.S. Marines are injured seriously when a suicide bomber strapped with explosives strikes near the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad.
