(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE) MILES O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR (voice-over): 6:25 a.m.: Matthew Fisher, a correspondent for the "National Post" of Canada reports from Tikrit that the city is calm after an assault by Marines early this morning. And U.S. forcers are inside one of Saddam Hussein's largest and most opulent palace compounds, checking out the network of tunnels underneath it. 7:00 a.m.: Abu Dhabi TV reports 18 Kuwaiti prisoners have been found in Baghdad. They have apparently been held as POWs since the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait 13 years ago. 7:05 a.m.: U.S. Central Command says all the oilfields in Iraq are now under coalition control. Brigadier General Vincent Brooks also told reporters coalition forces met less resistance than expected in Tikrit and are now searching the city for remaining Saddam Hussein loyalists. 11:41 a.m.: "TIME" magazine's Michael Ware reports the people of Tikrit are saying Saddam's family left the city three days ago, well before the Americans arrived. Saddam's clan is said to have left for a small village in the desert. 12:19 p.m.: CNN's Ryan Chilcote reports the 101st Airborne 2nd Brigade finds 11 of what an Army general describes as chem-bio labs buried to avoid detection near Karbala. Each of the structures 20 by 20 feet. The military also found over 1,000 pounds of documents buried at the site. U.S. inspections will continue there.
