ED LAVANDERA, CNN DALLAS BUREAU CHIEF: The FBI has now been called in to help in the search for Patrick Dennehy, the Baylor University basketball player that has been missing for almost three weeks now. Waco police say they're treating his disappearance now as a murder investigation because they have reason to believe the worst has happened to him.
Authorities here in Waco have also been questioning several of Dennehy's teammates, and that fact has hit the Baylor community the hardest. John Cunningham (ph), who has taught Patrick Dennehy the last three semester, says that it's very hard for students and faculty to deal with.
JOHN CUNNINGHAM: Very disturbing, very upsetting. So I can't imagine what his family is going through, as upset as I am. I think the not knowing part is the most difficult, just all the uncertainty surrounding it. It's been very difficult to deal with.
LAVANDERA: Patrick Dennehy's girlfriend, Jessica De La Rosa (ph), who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, says she last spoke with Patrick on June 11 and that everything seemed fine and he also promised to call her the next day. However, that call never came. De La Rosa (ph) says that Dennehy had been dealing with a lot over the last year, but she wouldn't specify any of the problems because investigators have asked her not to talk about it.
Ed Lavandera, CNN, Waco, Texas.
