WOLF BLITZER, ANCHOR: If you were with us yesterday at this time, you heard me remind my colleague Tucker Carlson of a promise he made during the prerelease publicity surrounding Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's new memoir.
Here's what Tucker said on April 29 on the April 29 edition of CNN's "CROSSFIRE."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PAUL BEGALA, CO-HOST, "CROSSFIRE": That was the promise?

TUCKER CARLSON, CO-HOST, "CROSSFIRE": If she sells a million copies of this book I'll eat my shoes and my tie. I will.

BEGALA: And your tie, too?

CARLSON: Yes, and I'll enjoy it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BLITZER: All right. Fast forward 10 weeks or so, and a million plus certified sales of her book, "Living History." This was "CROSSFIRE" last night.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BEGALA: Tucker, you're going to have to eat some shoe leather, brother.

TUCKER: You know, Paul, this wouldn't be the first time I've had to eat my words!

My word! Mrs. Clinton. Ladies and gentlemen, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton!

BEGALA: Thank you very much!

SEN. HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON (D), NEW YORK: You're very, very welcome.

Now, I really want you to notice, Tucker, that this is a wing tip, it's a right-wing tip.

CARLSON: Congratulations on your book selling a million copies.

CLINTON: Thank you, so much! BEGALA: There you go.

CARLSON: I have to say, I didn't predict it.

CLINTON: Well, there's a lot that you've been wrong about.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BLITZER: So far Tucker has not eaten his bow tie. We'll have to watch "CROSSFIRE" today, 4:30 p.m. Eastern, 1:30 p.m. Pacific to see what happens next in the saga of the Hillary Rodham Clinton book and Tucker Carlson.
