KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: He may be on the run, but Saddam Hussein, or someone who sounds a lot like him, is getting their message out. Within the past hour, an Arab radio network broadcast another audio tape. In it, Saddam reportedly mourned the loss of his sons, who died last week at the hands of American forces.
CNN's Nic Robertson standing by in Baghdad to tell us more from.
Nic, what do you know?
NIC ROBERTSON, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Kyra, on this audiotape, he tell the Iraqi people that the standard Uday and Qusay took honored their family, the man purporting to be Saddam Hussein, said that he was glad God had given them the opportunity to die in this way. He called them martyrs, and he said, like other martyrs, their souls have gone to heaven.
He also talked for the first time, identifying one of the other -- of the four people that were killed in that particular house, identifying them as Mustafa, that is Qusay, the youngest son's son, that would be -- Mustafa would be Saddam Hussein's grandson, mourning his loss, telling Iraqis that their Mustafa, Qusay and Uday were their brothers and their sons, but they had died performing their jihad.
Indeed, the man purporting to be Saddam Hussein said he was glad he had sons that could die as martyrs in Iraq, for Iraq, he said, because if he didn't have them to die as martyrs, than he would gladly die as a martyr himself for Iraq. So a very strong message coming from whoever purports to be Saddam Hussein -- Kyra.
PHILLIPS: Nic Robertson, live from Baghdad, thank you.
