KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Friends and family of Marilyn Manuel are really counting their blessings.
They were first told that she had died in Tuesday's terrorist bombing at the U.N.'s Baghdad headquarters. But then, they got a very surprising phone call from a Baghdad hospital bed.
Her husband, son and daughter spoke about the initial reaction on CNN's "AMERICAN MORNING" earlier today.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: My sister and I had answered the phone. The voice was strong, but the signal was weak and we couldn't hear her and we said, "Hello, hello?"
And she said, "Rick, it's Mom."
And I'm like, "Who? Mom?" And once I said that basically everyone came running out.
SOLEDAD O'BRIEN, "AMERICAN MORNING" CO-HOST: Did they think you had completely lost it because, I mean, you were told she was dead and you're talking to someone on the phone who you're saying is Mom. Or did finally the signal get strong enough that you said, "Oh, my gosh. She's alive. She's OK."
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Eric is a very balanced person, I don't think he ever lost it.
