KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Death threats allegedly directed at Kobe Bryant's accuser -- 22-year-old University of Iowa student John Roche has been charged with leaving a threatening message on the young woman's answering machine.
Meanwhile, the judge in Bryant's case is preparing to unseal some, but not all, of the court documents.

CNN's Mike Brooks now joins live from Eagle, Colorado with the latest -- Mike.

MIKE BROOKS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Kyra.

An Iowa City man, a 22-year-old Iowa City man, has been arrested by the FBI and Iowa City police yesterday on charges of making threatening phone calls over state lines.

He made his initial appearance in federal court in Rock Island, Illinois, yesterday and was ordered by the magistrate there to appear in U.S. District Court in Denver, Colorado, on September 2 for his arraignment on those charges. If convicted of those charges of making threatening calls across a state line, he could face up to five years in the federal penitentiary and a $250,000 fine.

Just a short time ago, also, Kyra, we just learned of two other incidents involving the family of the alleged victim in the Kobe Bryant sexual assault case. The Eagle Police Department released two reports to me this morning. This one -- the first one they're calling a suspicious person. On July 29, a person came up to the door, knocked on the door of the family of the alleged victim, and asked if he could wash their windows. They sent him away. He walked down the street and didn't stop at any of the other houses in the neighborhood. They thought that was suspicious.

In another case, on August 14, the family of the alleged victim left their house here in Eagle County -- they left the house. Their two dogs were left behind. They came home, one of the dogs was locked in the upstairs bathroom. They thought this very suspicious because the 12 years they've had the dog, nothing like this has ever happened before. They called the Eagle Police Department. They advised them to change their locks. The father of the alleged victim was thinking, also, it stated in the report, that he thought a possible bug may have been left in the house. They checked, but nothing was found -- Kyra.

PHILLIPS: All right. Mike Brooks, we'll continue to follow up with you. Thank you.
