KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Now, a public appeal. Investigators renew their call for anyone who has seen anything in those West Virginia sniper shootings to come forward. Meantime, a day after releasing this composite sketch, police say they're now looking for a second person.
CNN's Art Harris brings us up-to-date now from Charleston -- Art.
ART HARRIS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hello, Kyra.
The sketch shows the driver of a dark pickup truck seen speeding away from the murder scene right after a shot was taken a week ago. It's based on information from a number of witnesses, but mainly from a woman talking on a pay phone who saw the truck in the lot a full 20 minutes before the shooting. The same truck was spotted at another scene the same night.
Today at a news conference, the FBI agent in charge talked about the sketch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KEN MCCABE, SPECIAL AGENT IN CHARGE: The question was the response that we have gotten from releasing the composite and is he connected to the truck? First point is yes, that is why we want to talk to him. The sketch of that individual is of the individual that was inside that dark-colored or maroon truck that was spotted at the Go-Mart on Route 60. We have witnesses that saw him in that truck. The responses we've gotten were upbeat -- yes, every day we're upbeat.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HARRIS: Since the sketch was released last night, police say their phones have been ringing with callers saying they recognize the man, and providing dozens of names of different people, from friends to acquaintances to even one known criminal -- Kyra.
PHILLIPS: Art Harris, thank you very much.
