Bill Cosby to Perform at Baylor

KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Good news just coming into CNN here. We're told actor comedian Bill Cosby is going to perform next week at Baylor University at a rally to lift the spirits of that campus that, as you know, has spent the summer dealing with the high-profile killing of Patrick Dennehy and the arrest of his former teammate and the collapse of its baseball program as you well know.
We're told Cosby will speak September 4 at the football stadium there. Cosby has no official connection, we're told, to Baylor University. But last fall he performed at that school during parents weekend and once performed in 1990 during homecoming weekend. And evidently Bill Cosby just called up Baylor's president last week and told him that he had been following the news coming out of the university all summer long and wanted to come help out for free.
