KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Now to Iraq, where two GIs are hurt after an attack on the green zone in Baghdad.
CNN's Nic Robertson is there -- Nic.

NIC ROBERTSON, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Kyra, that attack took place about 21 hours ago, during the hour of darkness here. A siren could be heard when the missiles impacted. Initial report from the coalition reported no injuries in this attack. However, we have subsequently learned now that two soldiers were injured in this attack. Coalition officials say between three and six missiles impacted on the green zone, the coalition headquarters, right in the center of Baghdad.

They say they believe these missiles could have been fired from along the river. The green zone is right on the river in the center of Baghdad.

Now this is the first time that area has been attacked in about a month and a half. And this evening, we've been able to hear fighter jets flying above the city. Perhaps the coalition trying to give the idea to anyone that would attack them tonight that they are up, and in the skies and are patrolling and are ready.

We also heard from the coalition that two Polish soldiers were injured. They were injured when their convoy was hit by a road-side bomb south of Baghdad. One of those two soldiers is said to be in serious condition at this time -- Kyra.

PHILLIPS: Nic, with these attack still in full force, I mean, we're getting close to the holidays. Is this even on the mind of troops there?

ROBERTSON: A lot of them that we talked to are very aware of the dangers, aware that every time they go out, they can face attack, whether they're being shot at, roadside bombs. It is a concern.

But the soldiers we talked to, and the soldiers we've talked to who have been through these incidents say, look, we just fall back on our training, it becomes sort of natural how we sort of deal with that situation. The soldiers I talk to are not particularly fearful of the situation. Obviously, they say they don't want it, they would much rather have a quiet time. But the soldiers we are talking to these days are really just sort of taking this in their stride. That's the way they come across at this time, at least -- Kyra.
