KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: A roadside bomb has killed two more U.S. soldiers and a translator in Baghdad. Our Satinder Bindra is live there with the latest on what is taking place -- Satinder.
SATINDER BINDRA, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hi, Kyra.

It's been almost a week since Saddam Hussein's capture, and this time, about 45 people have been killed in the ongoing violence here. Most of those killed have been Iraqi policemen. Indeed, Iraqi insurgents have also been killed, and three U.S. soldiers have also died. Now two of them were killed today when their vehicle passed over an explosive device. In this process, one Iraqi interpreter was also killed, and two U.S. soldiers were wounded.

Now just west of here, just west of Baghdad, another explosive device went off, wounding another U.S. soldier critically.

As all this violence goes off, Kyra, the U.S. continues to launch raids to chase down suspected insurgents.

Just north of here, U.S. officials say they've captured a senior member of the former Saddam Hussein regime. This individual's name, though, has not been revealed yet. In the past two days, U.S. forces say they've captured some 200 suspected insurgents.

Now, in this process on Sunday, in western Iraq, U.S. forces saying one Iraqi woman was also killed, but the U.S. Army has launched an investigation.

Kyra, back to you.

O'BRIEN: Satinder Bindra, thank you.
