CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: In North Carolina, the governor has declared a state of emergency.
A short while ago, we brought in this report from Michelle Marsh of CNN affiliate WXII in Winston-Salem.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
MICHELLE MARSH, WXII-TV REPORTER: It's a very, very chilly morning here in Greensboro, North Carolina. Take a look at this pile of snow. This is just a pile from the snowplows just piling this up on the side of the road.
Roads are pretty icy and pretty slick here in Greensboro, North Carolina. Take a look, this is Battleground Avenue. Traffic is moving a little bit slow. Just some slushy conditions, but this is a main road in Greensboro. Secondary roads are looking pretty bad.
And you know we're bracing for round two, freezing rain, which is supposed to start later on this afternoon. Of course nearly every school is closed within the Piedmont triad area of North Carolina.
And I was out in this stuff for 15 hours yesterday, all the way from the mountains to here in Greensboro, and really pretty much the same situation through several counties in our state, that's why we are in that disaster zone right now.
Good news is we haven't had any power outages, but that could come when the freezing rain comes. So right now everyone is just getting all their groceries and getting ready for round two.
