LOU WATERS, CNN ANCHOR: I hear wedding bells.
NATALIE ALLEN, CNN ANCHOR: Can you guess which one?
WATERS: Yes.
ALLEN: You know which one. We'll let Laurin tell you which Beatle is getting married. Hi, Laurin.
LAURIN SYDNEY, CNN CORRESPONDENT: The cute one. Is that a good hint?
WATERS: Yes, it is.
SYDNEY: The world's most famous widower is ready to tie the knot again. Paul McCartney announced his engagement today to his girlfriend, Heather Mills. He proposed in Britain on Monday, presenting Mills with a diamond and sapphire ring. They plan to be married sometime next year.
The 59-year-old McCartney said that he cried for months after the death of his wife, Linda, in 1998, who succumbed to breast cancer. He met the 33-year-old Mills, an activist for the disabled, at a charity function two years ago.
Alicia Keys has been engaged in selling lots and lots of records. The up-and-coming R&B artist has the No. 1 album of the week once again, selling another 221,000 copies of "Songs In A Minor." She won't be No. 1 much longer, though. 'N Sync will grab that position next week on the strength of their new release, "Celebrity." Industry experts are predicting that the CD will sell two million copies in its first week, making it the top-selling debut album this year.
Patti Austin has recorded her share of hits. The singer has recorded a new album called, "On the Way to Love." Bill Tush caught up with her on the way up the Hudson River. Here it is.

BILL TUSH, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Premier vocalist, singer of songs, and I want to mention, we are in a boat, so if people watching are thinking they have to send the TV out to be repaired...
PATTI AUSTIN, RECORDING ARTIST: No! OK, I can't look at the camera. I'll look at you. Whoo!
TUSH: You've sung on boat before.
AUSTIN: I have sung on a boats. I've sung on many boats.
TUSH: But do you worry about getting a little seasick? Dramamine?
AUSTIN: Only if you're wearing pumps, it's not a good thing. Which I'm wearing, because I'm very short and I'm trying to appear much taller.
TUSH: Well, you're very lovely, and the album is "On the Way to Love."
AUSTIN: Thank you. Don't put that too close. That's been airbrushed and everything.
(LAUGHTER)
TUSH: They put the "for promotional use only" right on your face.
AUSTIN: Don't you love the -- like, right on my face. What is up with that?
TUSH: No consideration. Anyway, you've got a lot of songs on here, three of which you wrote.
AUSTIN: Yes, cowrote.
TUSH: Tell me about -- you're going to perform one for us today.
AUSTIN: I hope so.
TUSH: Do you know which one it is?
AUSTIN: I think we're going to perform "On the Way to Love," the title tune.
TUSH: And that is one that you wrote.
AUSTIN: No, that's one that I did not...
TUSH: Oh, you wrote "Love's Been Kind to Me Lately," is one that you wrote.
AUSTIN: Yes. Take note of the word "lately."
TUSH: OK. I also read that after did you this album, your life started miring the album -- mirroring the album.
AUSTIN: Mirroring. Yes, we can all say mirroring. Actually, I realized after I finished the album that my life had in fact mirrored what we did. But it was not intentional.
TUSH: This rocking is getting to me.
AUSTIN: Really?
(LAUGHTER)
TUSH: I have to let you sing, and I'm going to get out of here.
AUSTIN: OK, I'll sing. You get out of here.
(singing): "On the Way to Love"

Until then, in New York, I'm Laurin Sydney. And now let's go back to Natalie, because I'm sure Lou is off listening to a Madonna CD somewhere.
